It should also be noted that Onyate Man is missing a foot.
This stems from a local on-going controversy. One conquistador had dealt with one Indian tribe's up-rising by having one foot cut off of all the men. In this century a statue was dedicated to this conquistador despite protests. Now it's an on-going struggle in which somebody (or bodies) keeping cutting a foot off of the statue and the city keeps having to put one back on.
A result of the Onyate Man experiment was that most creationists, while thrilled at the prospect of this "evidence", were also cautious and wanted to verify it before using it. In contrast, when Kent Hovind heard about it he immediately used it that night in a presentation.

Re: Flea bitten
I will correct any mistakes I make, and I promise, It wont take 40 years!
I just realized this this very morning, just minutes ago.
Epperson vs Arkansas, 1968, led to the striking down of the "monkey laws" which had been on the books since the early/mid 1920's. For a little more than 40 years.
The immediate anti-evolution response was to create "creation science", an outright and deliberately crafted deceptive attempt to circumvent the courts. Through all its different avatars over the next 40 years -- a new set of sheep's clothing crafted every time the current set has been identified and exposed for the outright deception that it is, each new set of sheep's clothing deliberately crafted for the same purpose: deliberate deception.
The deliberate deception of "creation science" has been going on for 40 years now. Part of which is their lies about "Nebraska Man", a mistake that was corrected by its discoverer within 3 years.
Gotta love the irony!
PS
BTW, part of the "Nebraska Man" story was that the tooth had apparently been rotated in its socket and thus had unusual wear patterns that made it look more like an anthropoid ape's tooth.

Of course, if Dr. Mortimer's surmise should be correct and we are dealing with forces outside the ordinary laws of Nature, there is an end of our investigation. But we are bound to exhaust all other hypotheses before falling back upon this one.

Gentry's case depends upon his halos remaining a mystery. Once a naturalistic explanation is discovered, his claim of a supernatural origin is washed up. So he will not give aid or support to suggestions that might resolve the mystery. Science works toward an increase in knowledge; creationism depends upon a lack of it. Science promotes the open-ended search; creationism supports giving up and looking no further. It is clear which method Gentry advocates.

Re: Flea bitten
The phrase separation of church and state is generally traced to a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to the Danbury Baptists, in which he referred to the First Amendment of the United States Constitution as creating a "wall of separation" between church and state. The phrase was then quoted by the United States Supreme Court first in 1878, and then in a series of cases starting in 1947.
Jefferson did not originate the idea, only that specific wording to describe it. His life-long friend, James Madison, had described that very same idea in his Memorial and Remonstrance a few years before Madison would draft the First Amendment.
In my reposting of that pamphlet at No webpage found at provided URL: http://members.aol.com/dwise1/rel_lib/memorial.html, I note:
quote:
The Religious Right tries to explain away church-state separation by claiming that Thomas Jefferson had invented it ad hoc in a letter written circa 1810. However, we find that very same principle presented and expounded upon here in 1785 by the very same man who would draft the First Amendment a few years later, James Madison. True, we do use Jefferson's wording of a "wall of separation", yet Jefferson's "wall" is the exact same thing as Madison's "great Barrier which defends the rights of the people" which you will read about here.
Let us give credit where it is due.
