Archer Shoots Again
Author: Archer Opteryx Forum: Coffee House Thread: Are Creationists Returning to Their YEC Roots Post: 115 Although a terminally off-topic post in a fairly serious thread, Archer takes aim at Brad McFall in an amazingly humorous fashion. Now I truly appreciate Brad's posts - what I can understand of them - but Archer has provided a hypothesis which explains why I miss so much of what they contain. Now to go back to admin mode and give Archer the "off topic do not respond" message...

That one was good. He's no mere archer, he's Robin Hood!

Brad McFall: it made me laugh too I'm really a fan, Brad. I'm proud to say your posts are beginning to yield their secrets for me. When I first got here I wasn't sure what was going on!

Nomination for Sept. 2007
Author: Crashfrog Title: Re: Factual Errors in Bible Thread: Does the Errancy of Fundamentalism Disprove the God of the Bible? Message: Message 136 quote: So, you're saying that creationists can't tell the difference between vomiting and defecation? That, literally, they can't distinguish between an anus and a mouth? Your links amount to nothing more than "oh, it's close enough, don't bother us." Sure, it's close enough for a human book. We would expect mistakes in a human book. In a divine book? Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, like my dad says. I would expect God, of all people, to be able to make sure the Hebrew bible authors knew a rabbit's asshole from a hole in the ground.
Made me laugh out loud, although other individuals coming from a different perspective may not have found this post as humorous as I did. {Full disclosure - this was written due to a response to one of my posts so I may be biased}

Robs one ring to rule them all
Author: Rob Forum: The Bible: Accuracy and InerrancyThread: Aliens and the BibleMessage: Message 74 Rob writes: That's an excellent illustration. I often feel like Smeagol. And I often feel like Gullom. And both are me. That is why death will be so sweet. Freedom from Gullom once and for all. The flesh will perish with all of it's sinful desires. The only thing left will be the eternal life giving Spirit within (the real me). You on the other hand are Gullom. You hate, and spit and claw. You have no life on the other side that wrestles with your uncontrolled lusts and reasons with you. You hate any thought of a crisis of conscious. So you keep the little Smeagol voice inside chained and broken. At least that's the image you convey... I don't believe it. I actually think you are not Gullom. Gullom isn't the real you and never was the real you. Gullom is only a masqureade built to cope with the pain inside the real you. And the real you is not powerful enough to overcome the Gullom. And the real you wants to believe... but the Gullom talks you out of it and mocks you for even entertaining the idea. So when you see others like me who have believed, you hate us. You need the love and forgivness of Christ who died for you. He will come to you, and put Gullom in chains. He will show you how to live. Gullom has lied to you. I just picture Rob writing this in all seriousness, all the while laughing his arse off. I loved it. Edited by Vacate, : No reason given.
