OK, nothing really profound. But I found the situation funny, and I thought it worth flagging.
It very well could have been AdminAsgara wondering "What's going on here?".

Been paying very little attention to this topic, but Truthlover's back, and this one caught my attention.
I think Truthlover is like Bill Birkeland - Pretty much anything he posts is in POTM territory.
It seems that the science based topics get all the POTM mentions. Someone needs to watch out for the theological gems also.

Added by edit: Thanks to William Scott Anderson and his posts that guided me to Truthlover's message.
Added by second edit: Looking at the last 2 pages, kudos probably should go to most or all of the participents in the cited topic.

Re: Andya Primanda at "Homo floresiensis" topic
Maybe because, although I think Andya is top notch, and really appreciate the effort he put into that translation, I tend to reserve my POTM nominations for people who present their own works, words or opinions. IOW, that wasn't a POTM - even though it represented a tremendous amount of effort to translate and I found it very interesting.
Sorry, Andya. That's just the way I do it. Others, obviously, disagree.

Post #: 24 - Comment on Standard Discussion Board Practices
Admins message, in its entirety:
quote:
To EvC Forum Members:
Because this is a discussion board and not a chat room, there is no need or desire for instant answers. It is far better that a post be long delayed and well thought out than instant and poorly written. At EvC Forum the emphasis is on fewer messages of higher quality. Posts to let someone know you're working on a post aren't necessary, unless you expect an extended absence, e.g., "I'm going away for Christmas, I'll provide an answer in a week." And keep in mind that there can be occasions when the best reply is none at all.
I added the "bolds".
Yes, I'm an admin giving an admin a POTM. I think the above message is most important.
Please take any further discussion of this to the appropriate topic of those listed below, or even feel free to start a new "Suggestions and Questions" topic.

A summary and a rather complete one about what has to be rejected for YEDism to work.

Message 1, op
This's gotta not only be the post of posts for this month of December, 2004, but, imo, one of the best, if not the best, opening posts of the year.
Rocky topped the year off with this splendid post, so completely non-confrontal and thought out so as to put us all in a festive and all-inclusive congenial mood for the Christmas season. He topped it off by his recognition and appreciation for all members, regardless of ideology. Hats off to this inspiring year's end contribution from our Irish friend. Thanks, Rocky!!
