All I can say is I don't want to be around you when the lightning strikes. To say Jesus is a liar is shaky ground to be on. If you read a few verses later, it says in Matthew 17 that Peter James and John saw the Transfigured Jesus before their own eyes. Read the whole chapter, it explains a lot.

It's fair to ask why a prediction made by a purportedly infallible person does not appear to have come true.
I would agree that to label the person a liar is presumptuous and unnecessarily inflammatory. Logically, though, telling a deliberate falsehood would be one of the possibilities.
Other possibilities exist. The person could have been mistaken, for example, or might never have made the statement at all.
Please refer to the thread mentioned above (Original Post by Legend) where these possibilities are explored.
