Re: Crashfrog and Santa
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that St Nickolas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick...............
Clement Moore must have seen him. After all he wrote that he did.

Re: Mark and Luke were eyewitnesses?
I am not just saying this to be argumentative, but I found Strobels' Case for Christ to be utter nonsense. He was a court reporter yet in his book he never interviewed one person that belonged to the opposition, some trial when you have no prosecution witnesses.
I agree totally Brian. No matter what claims Strobel made concerning his reasons for writing it, his book was very much a "yes man" apologetic. Not only did he himself not seek out opposing opinion, but he didn't even follow up with opponents that were handed to him, such as The Jesus Seminar.

Re: Fair and Balanced Reporting
Hi Phatboy,
I believe the issue brought up by referencing Strobel isn't necessarily what he wrote or believed, but rather what he was trying to get others to believe about him.
That he was a court reporter has no bearing on what, why or how he wrote. The fact that he and others imply that Strobel's profession somehow make his book unbiased is the issue that I was questioning. Strobel's book would never have passed muster as an unbiased look at any other issue that he might have written on. He only included "evidence" from one side of the issue and didn't even pretend to question the opposition.
I am not biased against Christ or Christianity, but I AM biased against people who write books for believers and blatantly misrepresent what they are attempting to do with their writing.
If Strobel had HONESTLY written about his interviews with BOTH sides of the issue I would have had a lot more respect for him. As it is, he gets no respect from me, and I'd distrust anything he said.

I take it from this post that you and Anne Graham believe that none of the bad things sited happened before the examples of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, or Dr. Spock, or pornography?
Abortion and murder and suicide and pornography and profanity as entertainment have been around as long as humanity. I don't know about you, but I have had no problem raising moral, intellegent, well adjusted, socially conscious children in a home with no god.
