Re: Whoppers
I believe Jesus is alive today. I believe that He hears my prayers. I am sorry that you now believe differently, but perhaps you are sorry that I am stuck in what you call "mythology". Perhaps we can find common ground in our discussions...perhaps we will always disagree...I dunno..
I know that for me, once I was convinced...either through subjective evidence or fantasy...take your pick...I have to this day remained a believer.
Perhaps you were destined to take a different path. One question though.
What convinced you that Jesus is not real?

satan got a bad rap?

I think Satan is us.
You can say we "fell" from God's grace if you like but we actually grew up, not down. "Satan" is just the personification of our growing pains.
You and I are diametric opposites on this subject.
You claim that growing up means being independent and leaving the nest.
I would never leave God, throw him away, or cease believing in Him. I believe He wants us in communion with Him.
You claim that Satan got a bad rap, as did humanity being blamed for original sin.
I believe that Satan chose to become independent, thus sealing his fate eternally.
I also believe that humans should never outgrow the need for God.

Re: satan got a bad rap?
Well, I wonder if satan felt jealous when God abandoned him? These new humans after all! Stealing the limelight...

I don't see any point in discussing "Satan" as if he was an actual entity. There are several different Satans in the Bible, each adapted to a particular context. He's a plot device. Usually he's a foil used to present an alternative point of view. Sometimes he's more on God's side, sometimes less. Beyond the specific context of each story, he doesn't need to have feelings.
