Re: Did Jesus exist
quote:
Would you read "Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. Just to expand your thoughts. Smile But, you know, if you do not accept the Bible as the Word of GOD, nothing about our universe is going to make sense to you. Even then, there will be questions. Remeber that the Bible contains science, but it ain't about science. It contains history but it is no a history book, per se. The Bible is, however, complee revelation on how to become saved, one with GOD, and spending eternity with HIM. Isn't it funny that when we look at the word history, you can almost see what it really is--His Story.
Relax, there is still time.
Hello Valerie. Welcome to the forum.
I can't help chuckling at your 'His Story' remark, because it reminds me of Michael Jackson's 'HIStory' gimmick a few years ago...
As for this thread's topic, I myself acknowledge the existence of Jesus. But not as how you perceive him, of course. Jesus was mentioned in scripture.
The universe made sense to me. But I don't agree that the Bible is the word of God [some parts, maybe, but not all].
That means I just shot down your assertion that nothing in the universe makes sense without the Bible.
Just an intrusion.

I am curious, friend. (Thanks for the welcome.) When one says that the Bible is not the Word of GOD, but rather contains the Word of GOD--who do you differentiate between the two?
Why, compare it against the later scripture, the Qur'an, of course.
But again, I'm intruding into other people's beliefs.
Uh, what's so funny/sad about the EvC?

I don't mean to offend. What I was thinking is that those of you that are not believers are so obviously intelligent, deep thinking individuals...as a Christian my heart's desire is that man comes to kow Jesus Christ in the pardon of their sinn, that Christ died for them, for us. Just keep thinking it out. I have never visited a site like this one, you kow, where opinions differ but are largely respected. As I have said, I love this site!
Don't worry, Valerie. I can understand your concern to us lost souls. It's just that some of us had come to the conviction that God is unimportant, or [like me] raised in another religion that said man was born innocent and therefore not needing Christ. As for the experience, I've come across many nice individuals at EvC, of every opinion (of course there are also those less friendly). Just stick around and participate. Just get ready to be challenged.
