Re: Real world vs philosophical existence.
God could indeed have done so, but then by that reasoning, God could have created the world 5 minutes ago, implanting false memories in all of us, which makes the Bible an outright lie.
Well there could be some truth to this statement. For all you know, every moment of present time never had a past or a future, and exsisted only for that split second, just for God's glory.
But in the REAL world
You mean the one that God spoke into exsistance?
Just what is the real world?
Just what is time?

Re: young planet, old planets
Since Earth and Mars do not in any way look like that, you have to assume they are significantly older. Probably not hundreds of millions or billions of years old, but older than any sort of an age you could deduce from biblical chronologies.
That would be a bad assumption based on those facts alone.

Re: For the Love of God Check Your Sources
That source is 122 years old!
I can't resist this one, you stated that you are "professional archaeologist who has studied ancient cultures his entire life"
So you dig stuff up that is way older than 122 years and take it as fact, and evidence, but you rebuke a writing that 122 years old.
Just because it is old.
That is the most ironic thing I ever heard.
I guess we should just ignore all those funny symbols in the pyramids too?

After someone gave the classic "goddunit" as an answer, I pretty much stopped responding,
I don't understand the problem youhave with this answer. Joshua asked God, and Goddunit. Wouldn't you expect that of God too?
If people were willing to die for Jim Jones, I don't see why I can't start a cult of my own.
If your cult can last 2000 years, maybe somebody would actually follow you.

Re: For the Love of God Check Your Sources
It seems that Fernand Crombette from one of your links is associated but I haven't had time to check it out with claims that the universe and the solar system is geocentric! Do you also support this claim?
Do you think this is not possible? Us being geocentric?

Geocentric is obviously not possible since it leads to contradictions in what we observe.

Re: For the Love of God Check Your Sources
If we don't know what we are looking at, how you can you possible assume that?
Just because we are way short of any real answers, does not mean it is not possible. Open your mind.

But we do know it. We know it so well we can send probes to Mars etc.
Geocentrism is a fiction. And becuase we know that, we know the bible is wrong in at least that regard.

Do not go off topic and into geocentrism.

One last thought, and I will drop it.
We live in a 3d box, it can revolve around us, and we would never see it.
