Fair enough, maybe we should both lay down our weapons. I'm just pissed cos most here are evo
As for the wings, I have already hung out the white flag.lol
I do have a new silly question for the evol' though. Does wings on the ground give speed to the bird? Like the wings on say an F1 car?

They didn't evolve useless wings. They're in the process of de-evolving wings from when they weren't flightless.
Again, the question goes back: Why would god create them?

Wings on an F1 car don't give it speed. They're designed to trade forward speed in exchange for greater traction on the ground. An ostrich isn't going hundreds of miles per hour, and can much more easily get better traction simply with larger feet. They don't use their wings for this purpose anyway - when running, they tuck them into their sides to reduce drag.

In response to the actual question...
The wings have functions. Some possible functions, depending on the species of flightless bird, are: balance while running, cooling in hot weather, warmth in cold weather, protection of the ribcage during falls, mating rituals, scaring predators (emus will run at perceived enemies of their chicks, mouth open and wings flapping), sheltering of chicks, etc.

No I don't! the creatures would be much better off with arms. or other type of lims... wings are for flight you can clearly see that. So why would God give them wings?

Who are we to say "Wings are for flight"? You say that because we can see animals using it for that. That doesnt mean they cannot be used for other things. One Creator calls for similarities in design

"why does a creator call for similarities in design? "
I said "One creator."
From our human understanding, if two people do something, chances are they will do it differently because they are 2 different people.
One person - Does things one way, his way. (similarities : D)
