The Literal Genesis Account of Creation

There are many so called Christians out there doing more harm to God's cause than non believers. All those of you who have read my posts know that I do not claim to be a Christian (Christlike) but I am working on it.But the idea of the earth only being 6-10k years old is false, and comes from not understanding the Genesis account of creation.I believe the Genesis account of creation to be correct. Just a little mixed up so I will propose my theory of the beginning according to the Genesis account. I propose to examine the Genesis account as literal, using KJV Bible.1. There was a creation in Genesis 1:1 and should be coupled with
Genesis 2:4 because all this was done in the same day.2. At a much later date possibly millions, billions or trillions of years later we find earth in the condition it is in, in Genesis 1:2. Thus the 7 days of Moses in a re-creation. Beginning at Genesis 1:2 going through Genesis 2:3 then jumping to Genesis 5:1 and continuing.I mention trillions of years here because we only know the approximate age of the earth as it keeps changing as we get better methods of dating.Observations1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen. 1:1In the same day the following 49 things took place.2. In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. Gen. 2:4
3. This man was formed from the earth. Gen. 2:7
4. He was placed in a Garden eastward in Eden. Gen. 2:8
5. Every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food was there. Gen. 2:9
6. The tree of Life was there. Gen. 2:9
7. The tree of good and evil was there. Gen. 2:9
8. A river went out of Eden to water the garden. Gen. 2:10
9. It parted and made 4 rivers. Gen. 2:10
10. God gave the man a job to keep the garden. Gen. 2:15
11. Man told he could eat of every tree in the garden. Gen 2:16
12. Except the tree of knowledge of good and evil he could not eat from, for in that day he would surely die.
13. Not good that man should be alone. Gen. 2:18
14. God formed every beast, and every fowl out of the ground. Gen 2:19.
15. God brought the animals to the man to see what he would call them. Gen 2:19.
16. Adam gave names to all beasts and fowl, but no help found for him. Gen 2:19.
17. Deep sleep fell upon Adam, God took a rib. Gen 2:20.
18. God made a woman from this rib, and brought her unto the man. Gen 2:23.
19. Adam called her woman. Gen 2:23.
20 Adam said man would leave all for woman as they were one flesh. Gen 2:24.
21. Serpent approached Eve. Gen. 3:1
22. Serpent told Eve you will not surely die. Gen. 3:4
23. Serpent told her your eyes will be opened and you will be as God knowing good and evil. Gen. 3:5
24. Eve took and ate, she gave to Adam and he did eat. Gen. 3:4
25. They sewed fig leaves together to make apron's. Gen. 3: 7
26. God called for Adam but Adam was afraid, and naked and so he hid from God. Gen. 3:8
27. God asked Adam did he eat of the tree of good and evil, Gen. 3:11 28. Adam blamed it on Eve Gen. 3:12
29. Eve, blamed it on the serpent. (Satan) Gen. 3:13
30. Serpent cursed to crawl on belly, all the days of his life. Gen. 3:14
31. God put enmity between the seed of woman (Jesus) and Satan. Gen. 3:15
32. God multiplied sorrow in conception and birth. Gen. 3:16
33. Adam told he would return unto the earth. Gen. 3:19
34. Adam call the woman Eve. Gen. 3:20
35. God made them coats of skin. Gen. 3:21
36. The man had become one who knew good from evil. Gen. 3:22
37. To keep him from eating of the tree of Life and living forever God sent him forth from the garden. Gen. 3:23
38. God set a cherubim to guard the way of the tree of life.
39. Adam knew Eve she conceived and bore Cain. Gen. 4:1
40. Eve bore Able. Gen. 4:2
41. Cain offered fruit of the ground to the Lord. Gen. 4:3
42. Able offered firstlings of the flock, and the Lord had respect for his offering. Gen. 4:4
43. But to Cain's offering God had not respect, and Cain was very angry. Gen. 4;5
44. Cain killed Able. Gen. 4:8
45. Cain cursed. Gen. 4:11
46. Cain told earth would not its strength. Gen. 4:12
47. Cain went to the land of Nod. Gen. 4:16
48. Cain's wife bore Enoch and Cain built a city named Enoch. Gen. 4:17
49. Eve bore Seth. Gen. 4:25

4. God divided light from darkness. Gen. 1:4
5. God called the light day and the darkness night. Gen. 1:5

7. God created a firmament between waters. Gen. 1:6
8. God called the firmament heaven, evening and morning were second day. Gen. 1:8
9. God gathered water into one place, and let dry land appear. Gen. 1:9
God called the dry land Earth, and the water's He called seas. Gen. 1:10
10. God said let the earth bring forth vegetation it did, Gen. 1:11
11. The earth brought forth vegetation. Gen. 1:13
12. The evening and morning were the third day. Gen. 1:13
13. God said let there be light, it was so. Gen. 1:14-15
14. God made 2 great lights, and the morning and evening were the 4th day. Gen. 1:16-19
15. God said let the waters bring forth fishes, the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that fly, each after its own kind, God said be fruitful and multiply. Gen. 1:20-21
16. And the evening and morning were the fifth day. Gen. 1:23
17 God said let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind. Gen. 1:24-25
18. God said let Us make man in our image and likeness, and give them dominion over fish,
Fowl, and beasts. So he made man in his own image male and female. Gen. 1:26-27
19, God said unto them to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. Gen. 1:28
20. God gave them every herb and fruit upon the earth for food. Gen. 1:29
21. The morning and evening were the sixth day. Gen. 1:31
22. The seventh day God rested. Gen. 2:1-2:3BECAUSE OF THE PRECEDING OBSERVATIONS:I. There had to be 2 separate creation events.1. One where God made the Universe and everything in it in one day.
2. One where there was 6 days of creating and one day of rest.Faith and Belief please.

Shapeless and empty, is how I would define it.You could just look it up in a dictionary if you are just asking what the words mean.What are you really asking?

Well there's two obvious poitns that have to be raised.Your first list of 49 things says that all the events of Genesis 2:4 to the end of Genesis 4 occurred in one day.Obviously it's not a literal day since you've got Cain, Abel and Seth born and growing up in that period. (Genesis 5 says that Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born and that Seth was 105 years old when Enosh was born, so that's at least 235 years).And then there's the question of where the account in Genesis 1:2 - 2:3 fits into the rest of Genesis. It has to be somewhere, but where ? And why does this account appear first ? Why has it (according to your ideas) been split out of the main narrative ?

It is one day.In the OP I said I was going to look at Genesis as a literal account of the creation.This is Faith and Belief.Ok so let me tackle those two points.First point how did the 49 things take place in one day?

Notice in Gen. 1:1 it says created the heaven and earth.Gen. 2:4 says in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.That is the same day.Gen. 2:4 says These are the generations in the day.We are limited by time and so we think everything else is limited by time.God is not limited by time so time as we know it did not exist in the day God made the heavens and the earth. It did not exist until he made day and night.Second point: where Gen. 1:2-2:3 takes place.Genesis 1:5 could have been billions of years later in time as we know it but to God it was one day.

Verse 5 says every plant of the field before it was in the earth. Genesis 1:11 says the seed is in itself, upon the earth.In Genesis 2:5 there was no seed in Genesis 1:11 there was seed already upon the earth.One other thing to notice in Genesis 2:5 the face of the ground was watered by a mist that came up from the earth. The ground must have been close to the water table for this to occur.

This man was formed of the dust of the ground.
This man was formed before any plants, animals, or fowl.
The formed man was placed in a garden.
The ground produced trees. This man was created in the image of God male and female.

This man and woman was created on the 6th day.Genesis 2:15 still in the day the Lord God created the heavens and the earth. This man was placed in the garden to dress it. This man told he could eat from every tree but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
He was told the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. God formed every beast, and fowl out of the ground.
God brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them.
Adam named every living creature. God said it was not good that man be alone. Genesis 2:18
So God took a rib from Adams side and made a woman.
He did not use Adams hair for her to be over him.
He did not use skin from the bottom of Adams feet for him to trample over her.
He use a rib from his side to be along side of man, a help meet.

How? You are saying you believe the earth was created billions of years ago and was without form and void.Does that mean there were no dino's? Wrong.Genesis 2:2 and 2:3 did not happen in the day the Lord God made the heaven and the earth.Genesis 2:4-4:26 did take place in the day the Lord God made the heaven and the earth. This verse says: These are the generations=things that happened during a certain period.
That certain period was the day the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
Everything following up to Genesis 4:26 happened the same day.If you want to find out the generations of what happened in Genesis 1:2-2:4 you go to: This book of generations matches the man that was created in Genesis 1:26 Remember this is taking what is written literaly.Not what we have been told it says.

Your hypothesis would be easier to understand if you could provide a time line.We need a chronological sequence of signal events in natural history. The chronology has to show how events known to science are to be juxtaposed with the biblical narrative as you understand it (OP).In reference to 'the heavens,' for example, please show the placement of these formative cosmological events:-- formation of stars
-- formation of galaxies
-- formation of organic compounds
-- formation of the sun
-- formation of earth's moon
-- formation of earth's iron coreThis brings us to 'the earth.' Please show where we are to understand the beginnings of tectonic activity happening on earth, and where we should place the various 'snapshots' of its progress up to the present. For reference:Plate TectonicsPlease explain how this narrative accounts for the extinctions of the varieties of prehistoric fauna in general. Speaking of non-avian dinosaurs gives us very little information.There's no need to clutter your time line with detailed histories of individual clads. Just show where in the sequence we find:-- the Ordovician crisis

Your events include Adam and Eve having at least three children, who grow to adulthood. Genesis 5 says that it takes at least 235 years. I pointed out these facts, so you need to explain them within your literal framework.

I didn't ask for the time between them. I asked where it fitted into the text. So please answer the question.

Genesis 1:2 comes after Genesis 4:26. Genesis 5 has nothing to do with what took place in the day the Lord God created the heaven and the earth.Genesis 1:2-2:3 goes with the generations of Genesis 5:1.There is a creation story in Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.Complete job everything in the universe spoke into existence.As pointed out in Genesis 2:4 there was a series of events that took place the same day as the heaven and earth was created.Those things are listed in Genesis 2:4 through Genesis 4:26.At a later date billions of years later in time as you and I know it but as far as that period was concerned it was still the same day as there had been no night yet.Genesis 1:2 takes place.
