Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry
by John E. O'Neill, Jerome R. Corsi Amazon.com Editorial ReviewsFrom the Publisher Find out why John Kerry is Unfit for Command as told by the men who served with him Unfit for Command reveals a John Kerry you don't know-the true John Kerry that his political image-makers are trying to hide. But the veterans who served with him know better, and in Unfit for Command, they tell their story, including: * How all three of John Kerry's Purple Hearts were for minor injuries, easily treated with band-aids, not requiring a single hour of hospitalization **** How captured Americans were tortured in North Vietnamese prisons for not endorsing John Kerry's false testimony-before the United States Senate-about alleged American war crimes ***** How John Kerry carried a typewriter and an 8-mm home movie camera with him to Vietnam so he could record his own exaggerated version of his war exploits and film staged reenactments of his "combat actions" to advance his political career ***** Why John Kerry's photograph hangs in a place of honor in the Vietnamese communist "War Remnants Museum" in Saigon ***** Want to know the real John Kerry? Read Unfit for Command-and prepare to be shocked. From the Inside FlapJohn Kerry, War Hero? Guess again. John O'Neill was the naval officer who took over John Kerry's swift boat in the muddy waters of Vietnam. What he learned convinced him-and convinced the majority of veterans who served directly with Kerry-that John Kerry was and is unfit for command at the lowliest rank in the Navy, let alone as commander in chief of the United States. In this stunning new book, John O'Neill and his coauthor Dr. Jerome Corsi (an expert on the anti-Vietnam War movement) have... read more

If the swiftboat vets against Kerry weren't so scary they would be funny.

I don't know...I'm not Kerry so I don't know if he'd sue or not.
Maybe you could name more than one vet interviewed in that book that actually served with Kerry. You could also tell us why you like listening to communist propaganda? Something you'd like to tell us hun? Asgara "Embrace the pain, spank your inner moppet, whatever....but get over it" http://asgarasworld.bravepages.comhttp://perditionsgate.bravepages.com

Asgara, I heard that the Kerry Political machine is trying to prevent these Veteran personal testimony of Kerry, from airing on national television, threatening to sue the television stations from airing without cause, but not threatening to sue these Veterans, likely because (Kerry's Accusers)are telling the truth, and are not a part of the Bush team, so they are not bound by campaign law, (but are Veterans) so Kerry's political team of lawyers thus far, has not been able to quiet his accusers, because they actually earned their purple hearts, etc...
P.S. The testimony of the people that served with Kerry is being aired on national television, and documented in the book. The book has just become available, and presently the number one best seller at amazon.com. ***Kerry Unfit for Command*** When the picture of Kerry was taken in the Saigon War Memorial, Kerry was approximately 27 years old, its had nothing to do with Communist propaganda, cause the Vietnam vets never admitted to abuses that Kerry made up before the Senate, in fact Kerry eventually admitted he never personally saw any abuses, that he said were rampant, truly our Kerry is one of Saigons communists greatest honored hero's, in respect to the Vietnam War, etc... It is interesting Kerry testimony of these abuses he said was rampant, was not first hand, but the Vietnam Vets testimony of Kerry is first hand, a personal testimony of John Kerry, etc... John Oneil the author of the book, said that Kerry ran from the battle scene, that after the other boats rescued the people from the boat that got blown up by the mine, that it was only after no gunshots from the enemy, that Kerry then returned, and helped the person that fell overboard when Kerry fled the scene, fell overboard from Kerry's boat, when Kerry returned he rescued the person that fell overboard, and then John Oneil (author of the book) then took over piloting John Kerry's boat, etc... John Oneil the author of the book Could the John O'Neil who signed that SVFT letter be the same John O'Neil I wonder: The Republican roots of the group stretch back to former Republican President Richard M. Nixon when one of the group’s leaders, former Swift Boat commander John O’Neill, was recruited by White House chief counsel Charles Colson to debate Kerry on The Dick Cavett Show in 1971. "We found a vet named John O'Neill and formed a group called Vietnam Veterans for a Just Peace. We had O'Neill meet the President, and we did everything we could do to boost his group," Colson told reporter Joe Klein in a January 5 interview published in The New Yorker magazine. O’Neill did not serve with Kerry in Vietnam and did not know him but Nixon was anxious to find a veteran, any veteran, to debate veteran and antiwar activist Kerry. The plan failed. The eloquent Kerry wiped the floor with O’Neill and those closest to the Republican O’Neill say he never forgave Kerry for embarrassing him on national TV.

What he learned convinced him-and convinced the majority of veterans who served directly with Kerry-that John Kerry was and is unfit for command at the lowliest rank in the Navy, let alone as commander in chief of the United States. How was he able to "learn" that, given that O'Neil didn't take over Kerry's swiftboat until months after he had left it?

It's also worth noting that George Elliott, one of the main guys interviewed for "Unfit for Command", has since retracted his statements.
"Archeologists near mount Sinai have discovered what is believed to be a missing page from the Bible. The page is currently being carbon dated in Bonn. If genuine, it belongs at the beginning of the Bible and is believed to read, 'To my darling Candy. All characters portrayed within this book are fictitous, and any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.' The page has been universally condemned by church leaders." -Rob Grant and Doug Naylor

It took a Vietnam Vet to get Kerry to admit he never actually saw any Atrocities that he said was rampant, the Vets that Served with Kerry attest they never saw these atrocities, the issue is a matter of was Kerry being truthful before the Senate, or engaging in double talk, not in how eloguent he is able to speak, but whatever, the truth is out, etc...
P.S. Kerry apparently is a war hero, just not an American War hero, the reason the book is the number one book being bought, is because people want to know more about the man running to be commander and chief, and if he is fit for command, etc... well I'm pretty sure if we want to judge someone's fitness for command using this type of criteria how did a chicken-hawk like Bush get in?

can you provide us with the relevant sections of the book that say that?
You've read it right? In the same manner - could you tell us roughtly how many of the people quoted in that book actually servered with Kerry? This message has been edited by Charles Knight, 08-12-2004 11:52 AM

I think the charges and counter-charges regarding Kerry's and Bush's military records are ridiculous on both sides.
Looking at Kerry's FITREPS on his own site, it is clear he was a competent junior officer. As to Bush not going to Vietnam - recall that peak US deployment in Vietnam was roughly 550,000 out of roughly 3,000,000 active duty forces. US forces were deployed elsewhere in the world (e.g. 300,000 in Germany at the time), and it is unexceptional that a veteran of the Vietnam era would never have been in Vietnam. Especially an F-102 pilot, which was a bomber interceptor unsuited for operations in Vietnam.

As to the events surrounding the swift boat, not one of the people that O'Neill interviews in his book were actually ON the swift boat or NEAR the swift boat when these things happened. Guess what the people testify to that were actually ON the boat? Exactly what is in the naval records and exactly what John Kerry testifies to today. Now, which testimonies are more credible? People who were there or people that weren't there? I think the answer is pretty obvious. O'Neill is trying to smear John Kerry's name for the testimony he gave after the Vietnam war. This is nothing but lynch mob mentality, it has nothing to do with either truth or justice.
