Does man die for the sins of the father?
(Deut 24:16, 2 Kings 14:6, Ezek 18:20) Man does not die for his ancestors' sin
(Ex 20:5, 34:6-7, 2 Sam 12:13-18, Isa 14:21) Man does die for his ancestors' sin

Too much detail
I know it is nice to keep separate threads for separate topics. However, I think that this can be overdone.
Would you not think that this point could be put into the Flaws in Scriptures thread?

Not really because that thread is already a mess, and once Apostle (or whoever) starts responding to the alleged flaws it is going to get even crazier. Besides, the examples I gave there are unrefutable, they are existing errors in the Bible, there is nothing to debate. This however is a debatable topic in which we can try to decide which side is correct. At any rate you are the admin, so I guess whatever you say goes !

Nope, this isn't my thread to administer. And I was just suggesting anyway. Organizing your posts it up to you. You have some good points in why you want to separate it.
As long as you follow the guidelines no one is going to give you too much fuss. (In fact, you can bend the guidelines a fair bit before you even get a warning). Carry on.

No one wants to take a stab at this? Personally I say that man does not die for his father's sins. But that is just me being reasonable. But God seems to fhave two differnet views on the topic. On the one hand we find him saying:
Deut 24:16: The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
2 Kings 14:6: But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Ezeik 18:20: The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
But on the other hand he says:
Ex 20:5: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Ex 34:6: And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
7: Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
Isa 14:21: Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
13: And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
14: Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
15: And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
16: David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
17: And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
18: And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died.
Which story do you choose to believe?
2 Sam 12:

That has to be the clearest contradiction I've ever seen.
Where's buzsaw? He needs to get in here and defend the bible!
