anyone hear the new perfect circle?
"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger. It works the same in any country."
-Hermann Goering (1893 - 1946)
Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe, President of the Reichstag, Prime Minister of Prussia and Hitler's designated successor
The second in command of the Third Reich
"These [terrorist] attacks are not inevitable. They are, however, possible, and this very fact underscores the reason we cannot live under the threat of blackmailThe terrorist threat to America and the world will be diminished the moment that Saddam Hussein is disarmed."
-George W Bush (1946- )
Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces
President of the United States of America
Saddam is gone? Do you feel any safer?
Power, power, the law of the land,
Those living for death will die by their own hand,
Life's no ordeal if you come to terms,
Reject the system dictating the norms
From dehumanization to arms production,
To hasten this nation towards its destruction,
It's your choice, your choice, your choice, your choice,
Peace or annihilation
Think about what has been done. Fucking disapointing.

Re: anyone hear the new perfect circle?
Yes actually I do. If you had a brain cell in your head you would two. Your people and the media often ignore it, but we found WMD in Iraq, Sarin nerv agent. Though not as bad as VX gas, it can still kill you painfully in minutes.
Yes bush is not perfect. However compared to kerry, he's an angle.
Bush doesen't have the clinton News Network to cover his mistakes. Kerry got his puple harts from claiming cut from rice thrown at him!
Yes this is a sad day in America when it is legal to (literaly) stick a pair of scisors in a human beings head and pull out the brain. This is what kerry is for. This procedre is actually probally why we have so many democrats today. You people with sucked out brains join your closes relitives, half brainless liberles.

Anyone else got a good laugh out of the post right before mine?

If by laugh, you mean the sudden urge to vomit, then yes . I think the sick part is that this is the typical attitude of a rather huge portion of American voters. Note the lack of any depth to any of the statements made.
And last I checked, they didn't give purple hearts out for rice cuts (not that I know how you'd get cut by rice in the first place...).

Okay, GWB is President.
Now it's time for us to decide what should be done next.
It's time for those of us who are not gay to stand up and say that behavior such as we saw in 11 states is discriminatory.
It is time for those of us who are not women to stand up and say that Roe v Wade is not only the law of the land, it is morally right.
It is time for those of us who are Christians to stand up and say that there is no place for bigotry or homophobia.
The election is over. There will be another in two years. During the next two years watch the behaviour of your Representative, both at the Federal and State level. You need to start at the lowest local level and begin your work there.
Take back the school boards from the Fundies.
Take back the courthouse from the Judges Moore.
Take back the Statehouse and the Governorship.
Take back the House and then the Senate.
And four years from now, have a candidate that actually can motivate the electorate.
All politics is local.

Dammit, I'm afraid you're exactly right.
I disagree. I was one, after all.
But I was convinced I was wrong. Even creationists can't ignore what's right in front of their faces. We're stuck with another 4 years, I guess. Well, fine. Let's see if Bush can do all the stuff his guys said he can. If he can, we'll be better off, right?
If not, then the American people will see that. I still have faith in democracy.

Almost gave it a POTM nomination - As the stupidest thing I've ever seen posted here
Probably not proper to give it a POTM, so I didn't. But one would be hard pressed to do a better parody of neo-conservative wisdom.
Going to quote it in its entirety, to preserve it from possible future edits:
Yes actually I do. If you had a brain cell in your head you would two. Your people and the media often ignore it, but we found WMD in Iraq, Sarin nerv agent. Though not as bad as VX gas, it can still kill you painfully in minutes.

I particularly like the "he's an angle". I'm pretty sure it's not a right angle, so the question is - Obtuse or acute?
Plotting great moments in civil disobedience,

ps - Random thoughts:
1) Is there any FCC protection when I comes to truth in political advertisements?
2) Is there a band out there that can do a GWB variation on the Sex Pistols "God Bless the Queen"? God bless the king, the facist regime. Maybe we could get it massive airplay on truly alterative radio.
pps to Arachnophilia - Did you pick up that Mussolini quote from one of my messages, quite a while back? I believe I was the first, of at least 3 times, to post that.

Bush won and won big
Big? 1% is big?
More people voted against Bush than have ever voted against anybody in history.
This nation is better off.
Well, I do hope so. You'd better hope for all our sakes Bush can pull off all that stuff you guys claim he can.
Just wait four years and you can vote for Hillary over Rudolph.
I might actually vote for Guliani. Unless Obama runs. But I doubt he will in 2008. 2012, maybe?

Obama
Unless Obama runs.
I watched a bit of an interview with him last night. Very impressive!
Is the country ready?

Re: Obama
Honestly, if he can take Idaho like he did, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Democratic party go for it. Obama really seems to know how to earn the trust of the American people, and that's exactly what we need to counter the religious movement going on for the Republican party right now.

More of the Same!!
Well, here we go. Four more years of . . .
Jobs shipped overseas
Increased tax burden for the middle class
More war in more countries
Fewer jobs and less pay for the jobs we keep
An ever increasing tax deficit
Erosion of personal freedoms
Decrease in the quality of education
Empowerment of corporations over worker's rights
etc, etc, etc.
I love America, but it is leaving a sour taste in my mouth, starting this morning. I respect the office of President, regardless of who fills the position, but it is becoming more difficult everyday. I respect the christian right and their right to voice their opinions, but I don't respect the legistlation of chrisianity in our secular culture. This election, hopefully, will be the last election to lead us towards imperialism and theocracy. We can only hope.
To our friends overseas, sorry guys. We gave it a shot but came up short in the end. We could blame the War in Iraq on the president, but it seems that the blame has moved right back on the American populace once again. Dammit, now I will have to tell people I am Canadian when I go abroad.
Why do I feel like singing "We Shall Overcome"?

Sorry, but no Obama here in Idaho. If he were I would be jumping up and down with joy. The dems running for Idaho senate seats were pathetic. They were so bad that I could not in good conscience vote for either candidate, and that is saying a lot. If you talk to Obama, maybe you could talk him into moving to Idaho? Pretty Please!!??

Well, Illinois, actually, and his competition, Alan Keyes, was a buffoon.
But he did set the party on fire at the DNC. Very cool. I really believe we're looking at a future president.

Idaho for Bush
I seem to recall that the Idaho vote went about 70 percent Bush, 30 percent Kerry.
What is going on out there?
Spiritually in Canada now,
Moose
