AdminNosy,
I just wanted to let you know I thought you did a good job with your post on the topic. Something really helpful about this board is that it seems to want to build towards some kind of knowledge or agreement, rather than discussing over and over whenever, wherever, on whatever. So, by asking new people to read, to get up to date, and to post within the current thread framework if possible, we actually build some referable (?word?) resources. And this, I think, is a really good thing. Just noticing. Well... and commenting. Peace. Ben

Thank you. I needed that after having been so deeply hurt my Kennys and JF's comments.

Mods - the guy from Turkey, aysune-something, who keeps posting Harun Yahya links here, is also spamming other boards with the identical post. I say "sic em!' but that's just me.

We do try to be very patient.
I'd enjoy discussing the issues if someone actually tried to support them . He has been given, if you look at PNT, one more chance to do better.

Hell, I might even watch the video if I thought he'd actually discuss it. He's (or maybe another Yahyan clone?) never stayed to chat at DarwinTalk or CreationTalk, though.

I'm assuming this is the "right" place for suggestions / comments on topic promotion?
The Mind from Matter I think really needed to be fleshed out before promotion. There was just a set of loaded terms without explanation there, and that made it really hard to think and respond to the topic. The OP was two sentences; the second was irrelevant. Here was the first:
I do not understand how mind can evolve from matter, how mentality can emerge from physicality. Maybe it's because the topic is more unfamiliar to this board, so maybe that's why this was deemed sufficiently clear for discussion. Just, I think it wasn't at all, so I thought I'd leave a comment here. Thanks!Ben

I apologize, Bencip 19, for not going into more detail. But I don't understand what's "loaded" about the terms "mentality" and "physicality." I certainly had no agenda in mind. All I said was that I didn't understand it. Other posters also jumped to unwarranted conclusions, telling me to stop "denying reality," or that I was suggesting the "numinous." I had no such thoughts in my mind.

Nono, that's fine. I was just making a suggestion to the admins; it makes it easier to discuss a topic when THEY make sure that people flesh out their ideas. And from what I've seen, the admins usually do that.
I just felt bad because I was asking you a bunch of questions, just so I could understand your ideas better, and without offering any thoughts in return. And I think you started thinking I was just "pulling your chain" .. it's easier (for me) if admins get the basic info out for the OP, that's all. By the way, after Dec. 15th I'm going to finally respond to the info you posted Ben

I appreciate AdminIRH moving my proposed topic into the main fora. I would like to suggest that Maestro's topic, although with possibly some overlap, is different enough that it might be better represented as its own thread.

I considered that. I thought it might be better to combine the two, seeing as I felt there was little chance of a creationist attempting to answer your questions in the manner you described - and it might have died after being moved.
In essence, both of you are dealing with the relevence and usefulness of spirituality to the evolution and creation debate. I think both threads would have eventually lead back to very similar topics, if both were active. If the debate begins to diverge to any great extent, I will start another thread myself to handle one half of it. AdminIRH

Very well. I accept your explanation - please ignore my reply in the thread. We'll just have to see where it goes - or if.

I must admit, I'm feeling a bit disenfranchised here. I made an objection to his thread title in regards to our discussion, I'm curious why his was moved so fast?
Perhaps you can move mine as well and we can just keep them as two threads. Maybe that is better.

Perhaps we could agree to change the title to make it more inclusive of both our concerns. e.g.
"Biblical claims on creation: irrelevent spirituality or physical relevence?"

Actually I moved his because I saw it first. I can change the title immediately if you and Quetzal agree.
How about "The relevence of Biblical claims to science"?
