Although I am not a Christian, the Easter holiday, like Christmas, brings back fond memories of childhood. I still celebrate the holidays and will always see them as a time for family, friends, food, and good will.
Watching my niece and nephew's excitement sampling the goods left by the Easter Bunny brings back my own memories of untangling marshmallow peeps and jelly beans from green Easter grass then sitting down and feasting on sweet chocolate confections.
Happy Easter to my Christian friends, Happy Passover to my Jewish friends, and Happy Spring to all here at EVC. Regardless of our religion, race, or creed, surely we all can see Spring as a time for new life and a time to rekindle the hope that perhaps one day man can set aside his differences enough to realize the dream of peace and prosperity for all mankind.
Peace,
Grizz

Intentions & Actions
Happy Easter to my Christian friends, Happy Passover to my Jewish friends, and Happy Spring to all here at EVC. Regardless of our religion, race, or creed, surely we all can see Spring as a time for new life and a time to rekindle the hope that perhaps one day man can set aside his differences enough to realize the dream of peace and prosperity for all mankind.
Indeed. Symbolism represents intentions. Actions are up to us.

Happy Easter
But I do wish, just today, I could block all messages from Facebook friends with the word "risen" in them.

Re: Happy Easter
So terribly offensive for Christians to celebrate the Risen Lord on Resurrection Day you even wish to have the word blotted out.

Re: Happy Easter (Go Avalanche?)
Funny though how sports teams and favorite players are mentioned as many times in the media and nobody seems offended. Just sayin.

Re: Happy Easter (Go Avalanche?)
Funny how many people seem to think I'm offended by something when I'm just tired of hearing about it is all. But, if 50 people all started talking about the Yankees or Aaron Rodgers at the same time, I'd get tired of hearing about that, too. Believe me, there's nothing special about your particular delusion as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Happy Easter (Go Avalanche?)
oh subbie! I was just kidding you! One mans delusion is another mans belief, so they say.
I dont know if it matters so much what one believes as it does what one actually does on a daily basis....for some, yesterday(4/20) was an opportunity to get high and celebrate pot. For others, their belief---delusional though it logically is---that Jesus was alive and all was well with the universe made them want to share their "drug" with others. What did you do on sunday?

Maybe you were and maybe you weren't. But Faith, the resident queen of persecution, certainly wasn't.

Um since your a religious girl faith can you explain what the bunny has to do with the resurrection of Christ??
Cause i dont get it one bit.
From what i remember the eggs should symbolise christs blood and tears, the bitter herb the nails, i just dont know where the bunny comes in to play.

Christianity, One woman's lie about an affair that got seriously out of hand
What are the Christians gonna do to me ..... Forgive me, good luck with that.

Eostre is the Norse Goddess of Fertility, this is her holiday, usually celebrated with a little bacchanalian festival: flowers in your hair, painted eggs and rabbits ...
The eggs and rabbits are her iconic symbols of fertility.

I think that's a little harsh. If we were talking about Christmas, maybe you'd have a point, but the Passover is a non-arbitrary, non-movable date which just happens to fall in Eostremonath, it's not like the Pope or someone gathered a conclave of cardinals and said "OK, boys, since this is the single most significant date in the Christian calendar, let's see if we can get people to forget it's about the death and resurrection of Our Lord, and get them to think about some nonsense about eggs and rabbits as believed in by those Germanic tribes whom we hate and despise as barbarians and who keep setting fire to us in giant wicker men. 'Cos Hallmark say it'll make for prettier greetings cards."

I heard they cancelled Easter.
They found the body.
