Hi all'
If you are brain damaged and go to heaven do you get back all of your brain capacity or do you remain brain damaged for all eternity?
How dose this apply to:
a) Elderly people with dementia
b) People born with Down Syndrome

What about still born babies with no concept of existence and no self awareness?

I didn't think we brought this physical body with us. I was personally looking forward to a new one.

Cool, so I get a new body with (I assume) a new brain, so I am not me...
Or at least don't look or act like me
So if you fammily is in heaven how do you recognise them?

Maybe we just get new parts, right from the dealer.

But that still does not address the question of what happens to the minds of those with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementia-inducing diseases. Alzheimer's has been called "the death of the mind before the death of the body", but it is a death that happens over several years; here is a nice guide to the disease's three stages. Also check out this page on the disease.
In the first phase, a patient loses short-term memory and becomes less competent.
In the second phase, a patient becomes easily confused, often wandering off.
In the third phase, a patient loses all memory, can no longer recognize anyone, including self, and can no longer use language. The patient eventually becomes a bedridden zombie.
So what happens to an Alzheimer's patient's soul? Is that soul trying to wiggle free over several years?
Or do Alzheimer's patients get reconstituted minds in the next world?
