As I see it there are 3 options,
1 we evolved (from pimeordial slime)
2 we were created (by god or aliens)
3 some other wiered theory that hasn't been thought of yet (?)
To expand on these points, with hard evidence that supports the theory, that is quantfiable.
1 we evolved,
-fossils found in rocks
-fossils acurately dated (using several methods)
-extinct species found in rocks
-fossil record supports theory of tectonic movement, continental drift over MANY millions of years
-life forms become more complex over (geological) time
-transitional forms descovered for many species (eg dinosaurs to birds) with many links discovored. Features that evolved for one purpose ended up being used for another reason, eg. bird/raptor wrist joints.
-DNA discovered in the 60's supproting theories of common ancestors that supports fossil record
-ginetic mutations found in organisms resulting in more eficient forms/species eg. bacteria.
-Basic protein strings formed in labs that recreated primordial conditions. Thise protein strings are the foundation of life.
-many "problems" found in animals as a result of one trait evolving to be used for a different purpose where the benefits out weigh the negatives of the new trait, eg. homo sapiens being able to choke very easily as a result of us being able to speak.
2 We were created
-the bible and other asorted "religious" material with unverafied evidence said as fact eg. Noahs ark. I am NOT saying it didn't happen but where is the hard evidence. The writings were all done after the fact so are mostly bassed on hearsay. Many components shown to be incorect, not to mention the continuous inconsistancies, so this realy isnt a valid piont.
-Faith
3 Other
-Well there isnt much to say here...
So to believe in 2 you realy have to debunk all of 1, especialy if you believe in the bible as most of these point each contradict the bible...
I chalenge you to do this using verafiable facts only, that can be substanciated. No one has ever managed to do this, only put forward feble arguments that sound like they are correct to the novice, but have glaringly obvious holes in them!
"You can no more alter God than a pebble can alter the rhythm of the Pacific." too true, at least someone has heard of the chaos theory.
Question for the day,
Why are we afraid of the dark?
Im off to play in the trees

Ummm:
1. 'Cause everyone knows that night is the dominion of Satan who was banished from the light of God.
or
2. Our diurnal ancestors lacked infrared or ultraviolet light sensitivity and were hence crunchy snacks for night hunters they couldn't see and avoid.
What do I win?
BTW: Welcome to the forum. Have a banana on the house. "Bald Ape"? Would that be Homo troglydites or Pan sapiens?

Well there have been no posts to this thread by creationists!!!
Come on dont let me win this discusion (or what could have been a discution) so easily. Is it simply that they (the creationists) are stumped?

Why are we afraid of the dark?
Probably because our sense of sight is rendered nearly useless, which is unnerving to us, considering we can barely use the other ones.
Question for you, Why isn't a blind man afraid of the dark?

That would be a sad case indeed.
For someone born blind, I doubt that darkness even exists as it does to those sighted among us.
