I was personally delighted (not really) when Average-Mitt told Nascar fans that he does not visit the races that often but he has friends who OWN teams. Just like when he was trying to woo average auto-industry workers by saying that his wife drives a COUPLE of Cadillacs...

Hi saab93f,
... Just like when he was trying to woo average auto-industry workers by saying that his wife drives a COUPLE of Cadillacs...
It's not what he says so much, as it is how he says it and when not to say too much.
For instance, he could have said that as a wealthy american he owns several cars, so he can keep some at different houses, but even though he is wealthy they are all american cars.
Enjoy.

Re: prescient Mitt?
Although I have problems with just about anything Mitt says, saying his wife drives 2 cars isn't one of them. She has MS & has homes thousands of miles apart, so of course she's going to have vehicles available to her since she's lucky enough to still be able to drive. Who knows how much longer she'll be able to do that?

Re: prescient Mitt?
Tell that to the person who lost their job because of MS. They, too, can "still drive"...they just can't afford it. So, no, for this motherfucker to rub in the faces of laid off auto workers that his ritzy fuck wife has two caddies is a spit in the face: MS or not.

Exactly. It's almost like he just doesn't realize there is a disconnect. He could have said he owns a few American cars, and that would have gone over fine.
He also could have said that he has a couple friends who follow NASCAR very closely, without going so far as to say they're team owners.
I'm beginning to think he really just doesn't understand us "normals."

Precisely my point. Mitt is probably so disconnected from "normal" life that he does not even understand that most likely everyone does not have NASCAR team owners as friends or houses here and there and everywhere. Apparently he has had a golden spoon permanently stuck for his entire life. Yes,he has become successful but your average American dream of rags to riches he aint. From affluent to very affluent perhaps.

Re: prescient Mitt?
From affluent to very affluent perhaps.
And that might be his very issue. he sees where he is, compared to where he was, and thinks that where he was is where normal people are. Being less than affluent just doesn't compute with him. Being in dire straits generally means not being able to pay down your second mortgage...not on your house, but on your second house.

Some Results
So, in Arizona, Romney won a convincing victory, dear me, did I use the words "Romney" and "convincing" in the same sentence. Never mind, it will pass.
In his home state of Michigan Romney looks to be ahead by three points, which he is hailing as a victory, as is Santorum. As the Michigan delegates are allocated proportionally, 3% is not worth much, but the publicity value of coming first arguably is.
Newt Gingrich has stated that he'll be up in the polls soon, because he is incapable of saying anything without lying.
Ron Paul continues to run, because, well, that's what he does. His mission is not to win, but to remind the Republican establishment that there are two kinds of crazy people in the Republican Party, and his kind of crazy isn't going to go away. Or shut up. Or count for anything. Someone legalize cannabis already, you won't hear anything out of his supporters ever again except for the frantic crunching of snack foods.

Newt Gingrich, Liar And Hypocrite, But You Knew That
Some quotations from a recent interview:
Barack Obama is the most dangerous president in modern American history. This administration has intellectually disarmed, it is morally disarmed, it is incapable of describing what threatens us. The president wants to unilaterally weaken United States. [...] We are really at risk some day in your lifetime of losing an American city. [...] We ought to be taking on the Obama anti-American Energy Program [...] Well, this is a president who refuses to recognize who is trying to kill us. [...] And I think there's a desperate effort on the part of Obama and his administration to avoid reality [...] I believe positive campaigning works.
Then why don't you try it, you loathsome sack of shit?

I friend of mine once said that you Americans make it a tough job to keep on loving you.
Sanatorium is nothing short of scary - Gingrich probably even more so but fortunately it seems that his kind of lunacy is not that popular.

You need to remember that Newt Gingrich was once Speaker of the House which placed him in the Presidential Line of Succession should anything happen to the US President. In fact the line is Vice President, then Speaker of the House.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Some Results
Romney has been declared the victor in Michigan, meaning he should win the two state-wide delegates. The rest of them are given out to the winner of each district, meaning Santorum will win a fair percentage of them.
In Arizona, however, all delegates are awarded to the winner of the state, so Romney picked up all of those.
As soon as the full results in Michigan are in, it might be useful to list the total delegates won by each candidate.

From the RCP page
realclearpolitics.com

Romney......142
Santorum.....59
Gingrich.....32
Paul.........20
so far....
1144 needed to win the nomination.
Consider the popular vote totals:

Romney......1,749,111
Santorum.....932,222
Gingrich.....978,042
Paul.........462,912
You could measure delegates won per vote:

Romney.....142/1,749,111 = .0000812
Santorum......59/932,222 = .0000633
Gingrich......32/978,042 = .0000327
Paul..........20/462,912 = .0000432

Re: Some Results
Michigan is now in. There were 4 districts still waiting. Romney took 1 and Santorum took the other 3 to exactly split Michigan 15 delegates each.
Now it is:

Romney......143
Santorum.....62
Gingrich.....32
Paul.........20
However, I see on the distant horizon that California is winner-take-all, so the 172 delegates there can completely alter the landscape.
