Author | Topic: God exists as per the Kalam Cosmological Argument (KCA) | |||||||||||||||||||
RevCrossHugger Member (Idle past 5380 days) Posts: 108 From: Eliz. TN USA Joined: |
I adopted the cosmological arguments to provide evidence for the existence of God. My favorite one is the Kalam Cosmological Argument . It like all cosmological arguments is an logical argument that attempts to prove the existence of God from empirical information about the universe, and other means.
The most simple form of the modern KCA ie per Dr Craig is as follows; 1...Anything that begins to exist has a cause for its existence 2... The universe began to exist. 3... Therefore the universe had a cause to exist. Then the KCA in most forms goes on to describe why the cause for the universe beginning to exist is best described to be 'God'. There are three more premises, but lets see how we do with the first part of this remarkable argument that has never been defeated only challenged. ; {> Edited by RevCrossHugger, : No reason given. Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Added the "Kalam" back into the topic title. Added the "(KCA) to the topic title.

The full name should be in the topic title (number of characters limit permitting) and also at the first mention in the message - K..... C..... A..... (KCA). After the first mention, then abbreviations are fine.
Also (to all members in all topics), any acronym/abbreviation should have the full name at least once in every message it is brought up in. Edit message 1 to fix this. Adminnemooseus

I am not sure what you mean. But I will attempt change it. No one could find it on Google eh? Did my edit fix the problem?
: {> is there a guideline etc that states this? I read the rules but didn't see anything like it. Additionally if there are any violators in the archives will they have to edit their threads etc as well? Just asking so as not to accidentally violate the rules again. regards and the best of everything to ya' Mr Director RevCrossHugger ps If that edit did not fix the problem please e mail me or PM me. The full unabreviated version should have been in the topic title (now edited out) and at the first mention in message 1.
Nobody is obligated to do research to determine what "KCA" is. I don't care if you defined it elsewhere.
is there a guideline etc that states this? This is not a forum guideline - It is a common good writing practice. Others have this problem also. You are just the most recent, and it is in a "Proposed New Topic" that is subject to extra admin review. Also, get upper case/capital letters at the beginnings of all your sentences. An even more common good writing practice. Adminnemooseus Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Change "know" to "no" in subtitle. D'oh.

Uh huh. Ok with the ongoing attacks in the other forums and problems with hostility I thought you were singling me out for 'special' treatment. You didn't really answer my question. If I would go back to the archives and find similar mistakes (or in the current threads) would you require these guys to correct their threads and posts?
I am simply trying to determine if my posts are under more of a secular microscope than other maybe secular members. Again I have went back and not seen any examples where you forced a member to change his thread for the same reasons you kind of demanded that I do. I see grammar and syntax mistakes in many, many posts. Be aware that I am not accusing you of any unethical conduct but simply asking relevant questions. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Message 1, by itself, has been promoted to become the open to debate version of this topic.
As per the edited by comments at Message 1, I did some pre-promotion changes to the topic title. Still not really impressed by the message quality, but it is passable.
...I thought you were singling me out for 'special' treatment. You didn't really answer my question. If I would go back to the archives and find similar mistakes (or in the current threads) would you require these guys to correct their threads and posts? For a forum of this nature, truly high quality control admin moderation is NOT a practical possibility. So we (the admins) do the best we can (and it isn't a paying job). For the first 3+ years of this forum's existence, the "Proposed New Topics" (PNT) concept didn't exist. Members would start topics directly in any forum. It was decided we needed to impose some quality control, to try to at least get topics off to the best possible start. Thus the "Proposed New Topics" get extra attention and get picked on more. Not that this attention is always consistent. Different admins may well treat things differently. I know topics that got promoted by others that I would have not done so as they were presented. But we do recognize that member writing abilities do vary, and that there are members whose primary language is not English. And sometimes admins have to choose their battles. It's easy to promote a topic; It's work to post replies to get PNT's revised. One thing that I look upon as being inexcusably bad writing form, is the failure to start sentences with capital/upper case letters. Likewise for proper nouns. Another thing admins in general like, is paragraphs with blank lines between paragraphs. Huge blocks of text without any blank lines is hard to read. Your PNT had another situation that really annoys me. It was that "KCA". I hate seeing abbreviations/acronyms that I have no clue about there meanings. Such should be defined in every message. If you wish to research any admins message history, you can click on their name and get there most recent topic list (only last message in any one topic). Or you can used the sites search utility, and do a search by admin name. That will get you a limited list of most recent messages. You can go back further in time by making the search forum specific (ie "Coffee House"). Adminnemooseus

No worries I was only asking for fair equitable treatment. I am happy to report that the members are born again it seems and are very fair and cordial, which allows me time to post the issue rather than defend my integrity and credibility at every turn.
I am still learning how to use this forum, its different and much more complicated than the standard fare. So I request tolerance and patience, which seems to be forthcoming. Thanks for your advice etc. ; {> "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." "I am convinced that He (God) does not play dice." "God is subtle but he is not malicious." If you are replying to a specific message, please use the little reply button at the bottom of that specific message. Then the "replies to" links are created - Useful for connecting message chains. Also, then the e-mail message notification systems works. Had you used the "little button", I would have received an e-mail about your reply.
The big "gen reply" buttons at the page top and bottom are for general responses - When you are not responding to a specific message. Adminnemooseus

;{> Oh FYI my original language is french. I learned it before English. My father is a naturalized citizen, more info that I would rather keep private. So maybe you can take that into consideration in the future. Edited by RevCrossHugger, : No reason given. Edited by RevCrossHugger, : No reason given. Looks good to me. Are you not seeing the "This message is a reply to: Message 8 by Adminnemooseus" at the top and bottom of your message?
