In reference to a recent discussion regarding the meaning of Atheism, I questioned wether or not a commitment to Atheism would allow a person to continue to objectively consider the subject an intelligent design, people argued no, well...
Here's why I think Atheism could be a trap.
1. Lets start with the rediculous, what if God spoke literally to the Athiest, "Hi Joe, its me God, why dont you believe in me?" ; likely outcome is the Athiest interprets it either as a practical joke or schitzo voices in his head and checks himself into a mental health clinic.
2. God shows himself physically and performs miracles in front of the Atheist. Athiest intreprets it as a magical trick or a delusion, goes back to the mental health clinic.
3. Even if the Athiest or a group of Athiests who experienced the above amd interpreted it as a true testomonial of Gods existence, and even in they video taped it would other Athiests believe them if they were to try to spread the message? or would it be considered as a hoax?
So I pose this question to Athiests, what evidence would you require for God or an intelligent designer to prove its existence?
What would it have to do to 100% convince you of its existence?

To put it this way, Athiests such as Dawkins and Hitchens claim "there is no evidence of the existence of a divine God or Supreme being"
My question is, please provide an example or examples of the evidence which you would require?
How can we find something when we dont know what we are searching for?

You've pretty much busted your quota for proposing new threads. You've got 4 threads out there now and only 21 total posts between them. There's plenty to keep you busy.
I'll leave this open, post to this thread again in April and I'll see if it makes sense to promote it then.

Sorry to bug you but please make this a new thread.
the other ones are going off topic or in circles because they are leading to this question which I think deserves its own thread, I would really love to hear members views on this.
It really is a question I think for all Athiests to consider.
Thanks for considering
Den

I suggest you raise these issues in one of the threads that is already open.

OK thanks but Id rather wait, the reason is that the other topics are limited in participants as the other subjects do not caste as broad a shadow as this one and I think it would be shame for this question to get lost on the back of a thread related to different subject matter.
Thanks anyway for considering, hope you can change your mind sometime soon :0)
