Are you therefore saying the humans and ants are just as worthy, just as valuable, just as important as us in gods eyes? This message has been edited by contracycle, 06-24-2004 12:38 PM

contracycle asks????
Are you therefore saying the humans and ants are just as worthy, just as valuable, just as important as us in gods eyes? I would say yes? In fact, if GOD is (as I believe he is) suprised and excited by man showing up, I'll bet he's thrilled by all the other variety of critters. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

yes, I'm saying that - each has equal value to do as it is designed to do. Pigs, lobsters, vultures, etal, to be garbage disposals.....good to do according to plan, and so on.
Man is the highest order in creation and receives status in the mention of being created in God's image. But, this is my opinion, and the only thing I am absolutely sure about is - we are created in his image. Another may interpret that to mean what another may interpret that to mean. Everything has a purpose under heaven (Simon and Garfunkel? LOL)

quote: In fact, you are not saying that. Let me demonstrate: My question: are humans and ants AS IMPORTANT in gods eyes? you say: Man is the highest order in creation and receives status in the mention of being created in God's image. So clearly, ants and humans are not AS IMPORTANT as one another; humans are MORE IMPORTANT, and mean more to god. Thats why he sent his only begotten son yada yada. Where is the Ant Messiah? Do ants go to heaven too? If we are not special, why did god give us commandments? The whole point of christiabnity would be destroyed if we are not special.

Why not? You said that humans and ants are just as worthy in gods eyes, why do only we get life after death? I mean, if jesus death saved any notional intelligent aliens as well as us, were the ants not Saved as well?

Earth is not even near to be the oldest planet capable of witholding life...logically there could have been countless numbers of alien civilazations that would have died out through time and the calapse of their empire...it is our time in the future that we will be eliminated through time....if their are powerful Gods then each region of space most likely is in another's sphere of influence due through battle. The galaxy is far far to wide and ancient for Earth to ever be thought of as the "main" life world.

In this case He used Jonah's because of his weakness (hatred of these people)to better Jonah, and the people of Ninevah. This message has been edited by southerngurl, 12-07-2004 02:00 PM

Hey, yo, dude, I couldn't tell if you were stating an academic or religious belief. Mind telling us more about these "powerful gods?"

I was mearly stating about the "Powerful Gods" that I do not belive that only one God could be "out there", that if there is such power out there then there will be more holders of such power.

Why not? If the god is omnipotent and omniscient, why can't it be the only one? Why must there be other holders of such power? Please explain.

One being of supremacy seems too improbable...it just "balances out" if there is an opposing strong force...since "Satan" is supposibly "weaker" than the Christain god then this is not the correct piece of the puzzle.

Huh? Please explain in more detail how it makes more sense. Why would it need to be balanced out? When you are talking about probability (or rather improbability), are you talking about the math part of it or are you using common sense?

If the forces are not balanced then one could just topple the other even if one side claims to be "good" it would not be a good act to let evil stand just for them to cause more harm.

But the Christian doctrine explains this. In order for free will to exist, there must be evil. Since god is all loving, he actually allows evil to exist but under supervision. It's like alcohol. It's legal but it is regulated.
I still don't understand your use of the word "improbable." Actually, I still don't understand much of what you said. Please explain more than just repeating what you already said.
