Re: Iran has the second largest community of Jews in the MIddle East...
At times Spain was anti-Jewish, did that mean that there were no Jews in spain?
Actually, that is what it meant very shortly afterwards.
When Ferdinand and Isabella expelled the Jews from Spain, the Ottoman Empire received them with open arms. The Caliph of the time made some remark along the lines of (quote from memory): "This Ferdinand is a whimsical fellow, he impoverishes his country and enriches mine."
At times Germany was anti-Jewish, did that mean there were no jews in Germany?
Well again, yes, it did, pretty much. This is why the Holocaust happened, and how America got Albert Einstein and Emmy Noether.
You also ask about Russia, I really have no idea. However, the point stands, if a country is really anti-semitic, they do have the option of killing or expelling their Jews.

Re: too funny indeed
You are right about the percentage, sorry I was off on that, but the rest was accurate.
The fact is no one here suggested Iran should "Kill all the Jews" and in Iran, there are Jews.

Re: LessonS learned?
quote:
so is all that a good justification for killing the jews?
Way to misrepresent.
It says nothing about Israel or Jews.
What it does is to illustrate that Muslim does not equal bloodthirsty villain and American foreign policy does not equal pure as the driven snow justice.
It also suggests that you are prepared to ignore historical and political factors that don't support your little worldview.

Something has been done about this. The Jews know about the Iranian call for their destruction. But Christ isn't going to let that happen to his people, So no call for condemnation is required, but talks can be discussed about the Iranians call of their destruction. Maybe they don't want the media involved in it.

FSTDT alert!!!!!1!!eleven!!!!!
The Jews know about the Iranian call for their destruction. But Christ isn't going to let that happen to his people....
Really? So what, the Son of God was napping through the middle of the 20th century? He'll protect the Iranian Jews but European Jews are on their own? He'll protect Jews from Muslims but not Christians? You're completely unaware of the Holocaust? You are aware of the Holocaust but are completely comfortable with the cognitive dissonance? You lack basic skills in logic and don't see any contradiction between your claim and the Holocaust?
Inquiring minds want to know. (Not really, but I'm bored.)
{AbE}
Oh, and your belief that Jews aren't worried about threats of their destruction because they know that Jesus will protect them? Just....wow.

Re: Iran has the second largest community of Jews in the MIddle East...
yes, the same thing happened in Iran.
Persian Jews - Wikipedia
look at where all the Persian (Iranian) Jews are today.
out of 350,000 there are maybe 25,000 left in Iran. That is 7% of their pre-Islamic revolution (1979) population.

And like non-Jewish Iranians they have been leaving NOT due to religious persecution but rather for economic reasons. Remember, the US and the West has been leveling economic sanctions on Iran for many decades.

ABC also illustrated the supposed Iranian threat with stock footage of weaponry and soldiers from an Iranian military parade--suggesting without spelling it out that viewers ought to feel threatened by a military force roughly1/40th the size of the United States' armed forces.

an interesting claim, but I fail to find anything that supports it.
on the other hand, it was less difficult to find information about the Persian Jews fleeing a homeland they have had for thousands, that really kicked off in 1979.
Abbas Milani writes:
Iran in fact was the first Muslim country to de facto recognize Israel and established close ties that lasted till 1979. But even then, the dread spirit of Haman was also in the air. As the Iranian government and many of its people were involved in helping Jews in their hour of need, there were also some ayatollahs who delivered fiery speeches against Jews, and against Israel. Clerical support for the oppression of Jews, which often hid its ugly head behind slogans against Zionism, began to emerge at the time.
When Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini came to power in 1979, he became the standard-bearer of this tradition. He paid lip service to the idea that Jews would be treated as equals in Iran. Islam, after all, affords Jews many rights as "people of the book." But in fact, Jews were subjected to many cruel and unjust punishments. The first nonmilitary, nongovernmental person sent to the firing squad by the Islamic revolutionary courts was a Jew, Habib Elganian, a prominent Iranian businessman.
Wikipedia writes:
Abbas Malekzadeh Milani (Persian: عباس ملک‌زاده میلانی; born 1949) is an Iranian-American historian and author. Milani is a visiting professor of Political Science and the director of the Iranian Studies program at Stanford University. He is also a research fellow and co-director of the Iran Democracy Project at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.
Opinion | For Jews, there have always been two Irans - The New York Times
quote:
At the time of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, 80,000 still remained in Iran. From then on, Jewish emigration from Iran dramatically increased, as about 20,000 Jews left within several months after the Islamic Revolution.

Z Communications is a radical left-wing media group founded in 1986 by Michael Albert and Lydia Sargent.
so in other words they are very biased. and as I originally thought, just as reputable as WND. got it, thanks.
1. Out of over forty military bases on the map, you allegedly identified only ONE that is a NATO base.
so is this an admission that you have no idea what you are talking about concerning the data you post?
"allegedly" orly?
quote:
Camp Marmal is the largest base of the Bundeswehr outside of Germany. It is located outside of Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, at the foot of the Hindu Kush mountains. The camp was opened in September 2005. The camp gets its name from the bordering Marmal Mountains. Sanoj
The camp hosts the staff of the German Armed Forces in Afghanistan, Regional Command North of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), as well as the Quick Reaction Force (QRF)
Camp Marmal - Wikipedia
quote:
In late July 2011, NATO troops also handed control of Mazar-i-Sharif to local forces amid rising security fears just days after it was hit by a deadly bombing. Mazar-i-Sharif is the sixth of seven areas to transition to Afghan control, but critics say the timing is political and there is skepticism over Afghan abilities to combat the Taliban insurgency. Violence is at a record high in the insurgency, and transition comes as 150,000 NATO-led troops begin a gradual withdrawal designed to recall all foreign combat troops by the end of 2014.
so they are even in the process of leaving the territory, and letting the Afghanis run it.
yeah that really sounds like a threatening United States military instillation [sarcasm]!
this is one of many bases, and something you cannot defend other than to say "that NATO is really USA". I really don't have time to go through all forty something bases, just to see how many are NATO and how many are US bases with missions that have anything to do with Iran.
2. And even that argument is moot because NATO is an organization that largely serves the US easterly expansion goals.
evidence?
oh yeah nevermind you just make stuff up like that map.

Re: Iran has the second largest community of Jews in the MIddle East...
From the Persian Jews wiki cite that you have used:
quote:
According to the statistics compiled by HIAS, 152 out of the 25,000 Jews emigrated from Iran between October 2005 and September 2006 down from 297 during the same period the previous year and 183 the year before. Sources said that the majority of those who have left in recent years cited economic and family reasons as their main incentive for leaving rather than political concerns.
In June 2007, though there were reports that wealthy expatriate Jews established a fund to offer incentives to Iranian Jews to emigrate to Israel, few took them up on the offer.
