Hey, Mammuthus! Quick, let's make some dirty jokes so Adminnemooseus' head will spin around and spit pea soup! (I love when that happens.)

Re: Guilty of administrative power abuses?
What about having a quorum rule on suspensions and bans? 3 votes to activate? That would go a ways to remove the appearance of any personal vendettas. Votes could be in e-mail so they are sealed votes. Moderator in charge of a topic would email other admins with the case, they respond, when he gets 3 he activates it (thus he is procecutor and judge the others are jury). In blatant cases (spam, trolling) may need to have suspension with ruling ASAP ...

Re: Guilty of administrative power abuses?
1. Apply the rules fairly or not at all.
2. Harness 'moderators' that clearly have vendettas against posters.
I had never had any issues with the admin before (save Moose's annoying antics). As I stated in my email, I was told by another member in an email that my suspension was "chicken shit". Did I mention the unmentionable after you had asked us not to?
Yes. Then, so did a couple others. I was suspended, they were not.
I had always thought that you were fair and reasonable. Still do.

Hey dude,
I had wanted to email you a couple of times but I lost your address. And being suspended and all, I couldn't really ask you ...

Well, in defense of other admins and moderators, I can sometimes be guilty of playing the good cop after they've already taken action. Doesn't mean I don't agree with them.
As I mentioned in my email to you, it feels to me like you have a tendency to go over the top more than the average contributor. Your suspensions never resulted from a single egregious act, but always from a history of pushing the boundaries. You were always less a car crash and more a straw that broke the camel's back.
Perhaps Moose did step over a line on April Fool's Day, but stepping over lines is something you're fond of yourself, so perhaps you and Moose have more in common than you think. Plus it brought you back to us, so it couldn't be all bad.
Don't think of us admins and moderators as trained professionals, because we're not. We're just pitching in to do the best job we can for the members here, each probably for our own reasons.
Now be good or I'll make you a moderator!

Re: Guilty of administrative power abuses?
And just to confirm for you the incompetence rampant here, I once offered a moderator role to Fred Williams. No kidding! And I'd do it again! And to Terry, too!

It doesn't matter, the only certification requirement for monitors is a CPR class.

Re: Guilty of administrative power abuses?
Percy, it would seem that Fred Williams would not be interested in taking on moderation responsibilities unless it was anonymously. And the only temptation would appear to be if he was actively involved in the discussion. That was his history at CreationWeb.
Terry has demonstrated his intolerance when he is in a position of power.
It would be interesting to see either of them participate on a level playing field such as EvC. But I strongly suggest that if you ever again have the thought of giving such powers to Fred Williams or Terry then you immediately disconnect your computer and go for a long walk - you're obviously overdoing it.
By way of comparison, Admoose is the epitome of laissez-faire uninvolvement, geniality, even-handedness, honesty and consistency when taken in the company of Fred and Terry. Mind you , Admoose doesn't fare badly in the company of any reasonable persons.

Re: Guilty of administrative power abuses?
I must point out that it was Admin/Percy that gave you the most recent suspension, not me.
Now, quoting my opening message of this topic:
quote:
He has given me a convincing promise, that he will be nice to creationists.
I would think that the long time members should have thought something fishy was happening here, especially since it was posted April 1. Perhaps I should have posted it as minnemooseus, and in the "Free For All" forum (It was originally in the "Announcements" forum). But I didn't.

Hi SLPx,
Is the email in your profile still valid? If yes I'll write you. Otherwise you can get my email through Admin/Percy...

Yes, I know it was Percy, thanks for pointing out the obvious.
It was also obvious that this was supposed to be some little joke.
