Who do you think has the best avatar?
Naming yourself is optional (not really encouraged) - but give a list who else has a notable icon of their own.

You might want to check out the Best and Worst Avatars? thread.

Hi JIM!
I'm writing because there's a bug affecting avatars that's just affected you. I've already restored your avatar, so you don't need to do anything, but what I want to do is figure out why this is happening. In other words, I'd like to fix the bug. After you started this thread, do you remember if you did anything after that? Edit a message? Change your profile? Anything? Thanks in advance for your help! ------------------

Percipient writes: You might want to check out the Best and Worst Avatars? thread. Ah, sorry about that Percipient, I suppose I didn't want to search if anyone had made a thread similar to this one. I guess I was too oblivious and lazy to think of anyone actually coming to the same thread idea. How silly of me. Sorry about that. What do you suggest I do? Delete this thread or re-create it? Or any other suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.

Well, actually I do remember editing my profile for a minor alteration in my signature quote. I know for a fact that I did not edit a post because as soon as I finished updating my profile I scanned and navigated through the forum to see if anything I need to respond, but didn't. So I logged off. That is really all I can recollect from my consciousness. Hope this at least helps, Later: JIM. [This message has been edited by JIM, 11-06-2003]

In the Creation/Evolution threads we *do* try to keep discussion on the same topic confined to a single thread at a time, but this is the Coffee House forum where the focus is more often just interesting conversation. Thanks for the avatar feedback - maybe this bug will finally bite the dust! --Percy

JIM,
Thanks for changing the avatar. No offense, but I'd much rather look at Dilbert's garbageman. Unless stylized (a la Dan Carroll), I think it's lame to have your own puss accompany your posts. Witness messenjaH's avatar, which makes Wounded King's look appetizing. And do the 93KB's of Ned's fetching self-portrait (in which he's evidently surrendering to the RCMP) jam up anyone else's puny home computer? I had my balls shrunk to a more manageable 14KB with no loss of their austere beauty. ------------------The bear thought his son could talk in space about the time matter has to rotate but twisted heaven instead. -Brad McFall [This message has been edited by MrHambre, 11-07-2003]

In general I agree on the photos thing. But I happen to like Ned's avatar. It seems to say, "Come and get it, ladies! Ned is open for business!"

I know I never mentioned it before, and I haven't heard anyone else say it, but personally I have always liked your balls mrH.
Dan's avatar is nice too, but it looks like me (no joke, just take out the cigarette), and so sometimes unnerving. Like I got a cartoon mirror on my computer. ------------------holmes

What a handsome devil you must be.
Only problem is it doesn't look all that much like me anymore, since my hair grew.

Ok, sorry I'll shrink it.
Meanwhile thanks Dan. I am single and can use all the advertising I can get. If you know any eligible women invite them to the forum. added by editgeez, i just checked and that is the "shrunk" version. I'll squeeze it somemore then. added moreI updated it. If it is still a problem let me know [This message has been edited by NosyNed, 11-07-2003]

holmes,
You say the nicest things. And I like to hear them, (sigh) it's just how I am. I miss Quetzal's avatar, but since he's embroiled in all that international intrigue in the former-former-Soviet-Union, I guess we're lucky to have him posting at all. I think Dan's avatar is original and fits his don't-fuck-with-me personality. Oh, that's a cigarette, now I see it. ------------------America is like watching a symphony conducted by the tuba player. -Dow Mossman, The Stones of Summer
