What a fascinating news story. Surprisingly, MSNBC is the only mainstream news outlet covering this prominently. Kudos to them. Why no one else?
I particularly like this bit:
The final communique, hammered out at the end of three days of negotiations at a preparatory reconciliation conference under the auspices of the Arab League, condemned terrorism, but was a clear acknowledgment of the Sunni position that insurgents should not be labeled as terrorists if their operations do not target innocent civilians or institutions designed to provide for the welfare of Iraqi citizens.
It would seem that the Iraqi Sunnis have a firmer grasp on reality that does our government or media. What a sad state of affairs we're in!

Given that the US is building the world's largest embassy in Iraq (link), and building somewhere between 10 and 14 permanent military bases (link) it seems unlikely that they will EVER agree to leave.
