Re: the relevance of Christianity
You are choosing to use logic, reason, and reality and ignoring the idea that you are a believer.
So in order to be a believer, one has to throw out everything that allows them to function in the real world?
Edited by Theodoric, : Words, punctuation, clarity

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.
If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

Have you personally felt anything from your religious times of individual or corporate prayer?
Sure but that is not any evidence of anything beyond the fact I felt something. It is NOT evidence of anything external to me.
Phat writes:
Do you believe that Jesus is with us today?
Yup, you are correct. What does that even mean?
Phat writes:
What does the term believer (and belief) mean to you?
A believer is one who holds a belief and a belief is something someone holds that is NOT supported by any evidence.
Yet None of those things have anything to do with the topic or the relevance or irrelevance of Christianity.
Can you see a pattern in your posts Phat? Is there more than just seeking confirmation of what you want to be true?

Re: Hollowed Out Middle Class
Well, it's like this.
The hierarchy of needs. First, let's make sure people have the ability to have a roof over their heads, clothes, health care, transportation, and food.
Then worry about letting people get some nice things.
