"How do you know he's powerful? How do you know He exists? And don't give me that "You must be filled with the Holy Spirit to know God" - crap... I need proof!"
"If your so-called god exists, do you have evidence that he has broken the laws of physics in the past???"
We have witnessed Gods power many times. We have accounts of Christ healing with touch, walking on water, feeding the gatherings, turning water to wine etc. All of these things break your precious laws of physics, but cannot be refuted by simply saying "no one say them" or "they were party tricks", each of these events were witnessed by dozens or sometimes hundreds of people.
I've seen for myself faith healing, I've seen the love of God turn peoples lives around and I've seen an angel appear to me. A being robed in glowing white light with an aura of pure peace. He told me I would find true happiness if I started preaching Gods word, and sure enough I have never had a bad day since giving my life to the Lord.
"Show me proof! and don't tell me the proof is in his amazing creation all around us; we've already been over that; a god is not necessary for us to exist. Don't tell me his proof is in the pudding and give me some story about how He's worked in your life"
Consider the alternative for a second. You have belief in your THEORY of evolution. You can't prove it is correct (how many times has science been wrong in the past?), yet we can prove the Bible in many ways: we have documents showing the people in the Bible lived during those times, continued to live and minister passed the stories of the Bible, we know of the locations, we know of the disasters (we know Sodom was burnt to the ground just as the Bible claims), we have flood records and mass extinction that even scientists agree happened (meteor hit the sea causing the water to rise and tidal waves to wipe out the dinosaurs? Massive water deaths worldwide sounds familiar doesn't it? Isn't it strange that the Bible knew of this long before scientists started guessing?).
You seem to think that science is perfect, that it has all the answers, yet just last week the so called smartest man alive Hawkings retracted his theory on black holes saying he was wrong. Science can test somethings, but alot of it comes down to guess work. Why do you think every book on dinosaurs shows different skin colour? Cos science doesn't have a clue what the correct answer is.
You are trying to compare mans tiny knowledge against Gods infinite knowledge. I know which I'd trust more...
"Since when has the majority ever been right a majority of the time? (Just look who's President!)"
Bush is a good Christian, he has been elected by the laws of the country and lead to the best of his abilities. No sleeping with interns or Dan Quail style quotes. A good strong leader during some very hard times.
Sure people can be lead astray, and there are plenty of examples that can be given, but many more have seen the light and moved towards a more pure life. If you cannot see that the teachings of the Lord are all good, then you surely aren't reading the same teachings as me.
"Christianity is a crutch for the weak."
Quite the opposite, to be a Christian when people attack your beliefs on a regular basis due to the science taught in schools. Being threatened by atheists because many show a hatred of religion. Being abused by other religions. You have to be strong in your faith, you have to trust in God and follow the course you have been put on. Evolution is much more the easy path to take, give into peer pressure, be a sheep and follow the science teachers at school. Don't think for yourself, just accept that it must be true because 150 years ago Darwin said so. Get back to me once your beliefs have had 2000 years of attack like the Bible, and lets see then if it stands the test of time.

No sleeping with interns or Dan Quail.....
Blind luck? Or did you plan that phrasing?

Call me crazy but it seems these arguments are becoming so redundant even agnostics and atheist know them backwards and forwards.

Hehe, bit of fun ranting, no I'm not Christian, I haven't seen any angels (unless you count that local bikini contest) and I don't read the Bible. These debates always stalemate, no way to fight blind faith, the reason I'm here isn't to change minds but to learn more. The subjects usually get very technicial very fast and you have to be a student of every branch of science to answer the questions.
