Creation and Race

I recently tried to talk a friend of mine into joining the discussion. He declined, but in doing so raised a question.I don't know that the basis of his question is valid or not, but I'm hoping that others on the post can explore it with me.He asked: "Why is it all the [YECs] are white?"Now, I'm the first to say, I don't know that that is in fact true.So, can you help me out? Are there any well known IDers or YECs who aren't white? If so, who?If there aren't, or if there are only 1 or 2 of them, why is that? What about this theory makes it so appeal to White people and not appealing to other racial groups?

"Well-known" may be the kicker here. I'm certain that, given that the majority of Jehova's Witnesses I've ever known have been black, that there's a pretty good bunch of YEC's there. And lots of black folks, at least here in the South, are members of other fundamentalist groups.
I read (wikipedia, maybe?) recently that Jack Chick's main assistant artist, sensu lato, was a black man. I wonder if your friend's perception has summat to do with the same cause that makes most all the well-known televangelists white males, too: exposure? Big bucks? But then AiG's staff photo is a pretty pasty-white crowd...

Yeah, my original response to his question was "they aren't all white, are they?" but then I couldn't come up with any that weren't.You're probably right about the JW, I don't know much about them.The answer to "why are all the public figures of YEC white" is likely to be the same answer as "why have only a handful of African Americans won an academy award"

Ah, the Kolbe Center (Keye's audience). These guys make the ICR look moderate. They are extreme traditionalist Catholics, and not only YECs, but geocentrists.That's right, geocentrists.

Say what you want about Keyes but at least you know where he stands.I may disagree with him, but he's one of the few politicians who will take a position he believes in and hold it despite the fact that 99.9% of Americans don't agree.

On a planet that isn't moving, it would seem.I'm regarded as pretty conservative on this board, but even I have my limits.

Just adding my two cents: I believe most of the Jehova's Witnesses in my area are white.
