A new life

The U.S Medical team at Louisville in Kentucky has requested permission to perform the worlds first face transplant. Although surgeons would be ready to carry out this surgery, ethical issues must be brought up at the British Association of Plastic Surgeons in London before any operations can commence.
The operation, which has been tested on donor bodies, has been successful showing promising results. The patients eligible for this radical operation would be patients whose faces have been seriously disfigured by cancer, burns or accidents. Unlike the common skin graft techniques, where a patients skin is grafted from another part of their body and surgically placed on the area being worked on, which is recognizable and allows very little movement due to the lack of nerves etc.. A face transplant would carry the 'face' along with muscle tissues and nerves. This would allow for movement in facial expressions.
Doctors state that although they are taking the exact face from a donor, the face would not be recognizable to the donor’s family due to muscle variations and bone structure.
To me this seems like a good idea, give a person who has been given unfair chances a new lease on life. Although in the future if this was to become a normal practice I can see where it could get out of hand, with crimes, murders etc.. What do you think?
