My results are suffering from back-to-back-system crashes - first my laptop (now rebuilt) and then my work desktop (still at the shop, so I actually have to work on my laptop ... ). The good news is that the desktop is being rebuilt as a {better\faster\powerful} machine, and that I am getting 'ghost' for the laptop so it won't take me a week to get it back into operation.

We are on the verge of breaking some 1000-barriers.

Did you know that most of the time your computer is doing nothing? What if you could make it do something really useful? Like helping scientists understand diseases? Your computer could even be instrumental in finding a cure for HIV/AIDS. Wouldn't that be something? If you agree, then join World Community Grid now and download a simple, free tool that lets you and your computer do your share in helping humanity. After all, you are part of it, so why not take part in it?

I did some more research and the following is a nice illustration of how we are doing. At the time I did my research, Stuyvesant Alumni was ranking 1000th in the category "points generated", we were 1147th. The graph shows the statistics of the last 30 days. The markers are real data, the lines are projections into the future. The vertical line indicates we will intercept them somewhere around the 20th.

Parasomnium -- what's the projection on passing the 1000 rank barrier for results? (such an upstart we are eh?)

Re: Welcome #27
We're turning in over 35 results a day. To break into the top 1000 for results will take at least 2006 results(currently). Given everyone's numbers changing, we should be there in 3 or 4 days.

More statistics
RAZD, here's the same kind of analysis for the category "results returned". In this case we have to overtake Proteome Origami. Asgara is right on the mark with her prediction.
Of course, other teams might be closing in on the 1000-barrier also, but on the 19th, we should be among a number of teams competing for the 1000th rank. And seeing our upward mobility, we should easily win.
The second graph is our rank 500 target.

Hey guys, I'm going to add my second computer to the grid - do I need to start a new profile or can I just add it to my current one?

Make another device

If I remember correctly, when you install the programme on your second
computer, you will be asked for your World Community Grid member name. If you enter the same name you're already registered under, another device will be added to your account.

you can just add a device once you log on with the same profile. each device can have different settings (so work computer only works while on screen saver, but home one works constantly in the background).
the device profile manager is at
World Community Grid
