Name: Schrafinator Forum: Education and Creation/Evolution Thread: Dr. Robert T. Bakker's thoughts on ID and Atheism in schools. Post #: Message 88 Schraf puts forward a reasonable, well written, cogent explanation for why Creationist don’t get the respect they desire from Evo’s. This post should be a primer for all new Creo posters.

Name: Iano Forum: Faith and Belief Thread: Atheism isn't a Belief Post: #158 http:// EvC Forum: Atheism isn't a belief? Iano eloquently and clearly portrays the position of many of us on this forum who accept science wherever it leads us, but at the same time are Theistic. I would also suggest that this post be pulled out of that thread and used as a topic on its own. I frankly don't know why Iano didn't do that in the first place but it definitely is more than suitable as a thread starter.
Everybody is entitled to my opinion.

randman finally gets it
Forum: coffee houseThread: Video of Iraqi Insurgent being interogattedPost: 5 In an otherwise innocuous post, Randman makes a massive breakthrough in accepting that the suffering of Iraqi detainees, and their torture by US forces, is morally equivalent to Islamic terrorism. This is a real breakthrough for Randman, who has otherwise shown himself to be on the extreme right wing end of the political spectrum. I heartily congratulate him in stepping towards the idea of Universal Human Rights.

Re: randman finally gets it
Sorry, I misposted. Randman actually said "Targeting civilians as the insurgent terrorists do is a little different than prison abuse." I read it as: "Targeting civilians as the insurgent terrorists do is little different than prison abuse." Sorry, that was a genuine mistake.

One More Time This is not related to my clashes with randman, but I think in this post, John amazingly conveys why he is having problems following randman's argument. And he does it with such diplomacy.

Parasomnium and staying on topic
Name: Parasomnium Forum: Suggestions and Questions Thread: Topic theme awareness!!! Post: 12 Parasomnium steps up to the plate and shows how it's done. Discussing a topic depends on NOT on making general comments about related ideals, but rather discussing an ideal as it relates to the topic. I think Para's post is a perfect example of how to do this. And I think if we all follow her (OK, OK, his) lead, Moose can fade into the sunset as a more relaxed, stress-free Moose. Thanks Parasomnium for showing how it's done.

Re: Parasomnium and staying on topic
That is it exactly. That's why one admires Parasomnium: the crisp prose (and imagine this--this is his/her second language--rather amazing); the fairmindedness; the politeness. One goes on and on.

Thanks.
Thank you both, it's too much honour. It's only as well that my colleague hadn't walked in yet when I read your praise, because he would certainly have been puzzled by my appearance, which consisted mainly of a grin from ear to ear.

Re: Thanks.
What amazes me is the sophisticated use of English. I'm horrible with foreign languages. I guess you got to start early. Very early.
