well, a written record that goes back 7000 years is pretty good evidence that man has existed for that long, with the ability to write. and that's pretty good evidence that the earth has existed that long too.

Re: Again...
You should look up ASSumption in the dictionary and discard your ASSumption that his evidence in insufficient.

Re: Again...
WHAT EVIDENCE?
Try putting "Earliest Writing" into google, and read through some of the links. Enjoy.

Are we wandering afield again
How are we getting bogged down on when writing became common when by any account that's a fairly recent invention. After all, pottery making certainly goes back at least twice as far as writing or about 10-15,000 years.

Re: Again...
Hey, I'll do the parrot impressions, thank you very much.
Are you saying you're after evidence of man existing before the ability to write? or that you want evidence of writing prior to October 23rd, 4004 BC?

OK, Let's start with this: Did you either do the Google I suggested, or follow my link to the shoyen collection? If so, what are your thoughts?

Sorry, I'll try to avoid irony in future. Although since you mentioned it, "October" is Roman, not post-Roman (Octobris, Octo=eight, +bris, Lat Adj. sfx.). Also, of course, any time system can be extended backwards in time as well as forwards (otherwise there would be no dates before about 300 AD) but I'm sure you realised that as soon as you hit "submit".

And I'm equally sure he still hasn't realised it. I think it's just to complex for him. But trying to educate this guy will be good for you. You will end up cultivating the patience of Job.
best of luck!

Now that's not very nice, Ifen. Just because he's a Hovind supporter doesn't mean he's an idiot
Well, he probably isn't
OK, he might not be.
