Just to beat everyone to this.
Some of you will have midnight a long time before we do but within a few kms of me are a handful of people who have had a copy since last weekend. I wish I was one of them.
Anyone else who is looking forward to this as much as I am (and is over 12 )?
(My admin alter ego will issue a permanent banning to anyone who posts a spoiler about this book --- GOT THAT?! ?!)

I read them to my three year old son - he falls asleep after 30 seconds, 10 seconds later so do I.
So, make it five. Let's start a cult.

Apophenia:seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data.
Pareidolia:vague or random stimulus being perceived (mistakenly) as recognisable.
Ramsey Theoryatterns may exist.
Whoops!

Let's start a cult.
the cult of non-harry-potter-readers. it could be like the flat earth society.

At last!
Husband and 5 yr old son are off out as I type to try to get a copy. I started reading Harry Potter just after son was born, in fact while I was still in hospital, and I can't get enough!!
Son is just getting the first one read to him with the scary bits missed out and will then get the second one read. By the time we get through them he should be old enough to handle the subsequent books which are a bit too scary for small widgets. Heck, they scared me!! Maybe I'm a small widget at heart

Another non-believer
Add me to the list of non-believers.
Haven't read any of the books, started to watch one of the movies, rapidly bored to tears, TV off.
Brian.

Dude, how can you judge a book by it's movie?
The first two movies were pretty bad, but the third was pretty good.
The books are brilliant and have gotten better and better.
I'm getting mine from Amazon today.
No sleep for me tonight.

Well, I'd assume that at least the basic outline of the story and characters would be the same, that would be enough for me.
I am not saying that the books aren't good, since I havent read them I cannot comment, but the basic idea doesn't appeal to me.
I'm getting mine from Amazon today.
Pity you don't live in the UK, Kwik Save are selling it for 5.99.
