In Steven Emerson's so-called "apology" he describes Birmingham as a "beautiful city".
He just can't stop with the lies, can he?

You just can't deny facts.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

As a native of said Birmingham, I can confirm that I can go, ooh, days without being attacked by any of the 200,000 or so Muslims, who (together with me) call Birmingham their home.
That's 200,000 to one. You have a real problem there

Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

In Steven Emerson's so-called "apology" he describes Birmingham as a "beautiful city".
He just can't stop with the lies, can he?
He acknowledges he didn't fact check, and then proceeds not to fact check before apologising.
Birmingham has brought the world many things - we were at the heart of the industrial revolution, pump-priming global warming; we manufactured some of the world's finest guns for decades; we have what is possibly the world's greatest comic accent; we have a collection of the lowest achieving soccer teams in the entire UK (and I include Scotland in that); we brought the world "glam rock" (really, really sorry about that one); and apparently, we have more miles of canals than Venice (fewer gondolas though).
Birmingham has not, however, excelled itself in bestowing beauty on the world.
(Still love the place though) :-)

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

I don't have a Brummie accent though - the remaining 800,000 of us call it "howum" (accent on the second syllable, and protracted far more than you would think could be sustainable) ;-)
Edited by vimesey, : No reason given.

But isn't that how FoxNews makes its living?

Nah, it just redefines facts to meet its target. Shoot first, draw circles later.

Also a science fan who is also a Brummie should definitely read Jenny Uglow's The Lunar Men.
