Moral of the story, if it feels good saying/doing it, it's probably not a good idea.
We all remember the Michael Richards incident. He yells out the word "nigger" and it was the most offensive thing people have ever heard before. Even I was shocked and I don't get shocked by much.
It is usually thought that white people can't and should not use this word in public, in any context, because of how offensive it is taken to be. I always thought this was the case, till I watch Louis CK's special.
He uses the "n" word in a joke and it goes over well. Weird that in this context no one seems to have gotten offended.
I think this joke is hilarious, and I'm also jealous that I didn't think of it. But honestly I don't have the name that Louis has so I probably wouldn't have the balls to do this joke in front of an audience.
Democrats couldn't win an election without the black vote, but the Democratic Party keeps treating blacks like stage props, wheeling them out for photo-ops and marches now and then but almost never putting them in charge of anything important.
I am completely unable to think of a counter-example. Because I have just been beaten vigorously about the head with a brick, and am tragically doomed to spend the rest of my life as a vegetable.
LOL, at least you know how to deal with the material.
But seriously, I keep looking at the cartoon and going Uh, that's pretty lame. I mean, Ok, Haha that guy's a real tool! But beyond that, nothing. Don't you think with an opening like that, you could come up with something better than a random bash?
I mean what if a ratchet and a screwdriver were arguing over whether Haiti was an example of historical Faustianism or a plot by the Obama white house. And then a nice yardstick came by and said "Back in the day, I would be getting you guys coffee." Black & Decker, baby. Snap On.

Everybody's a critic.

Not bad, lol.
I actually said this cynically on stage the other night:
"It was nice to see Obama, Clinton and Bush come together and set aside differences to help the people of, Haiti.
Lucky for them [Haiti] they didn't need help with health care, same sex marriage or gun control... cos then they'd be fucked."
When i read the comic, i thought it was disgusting and offensive, though the joke is kind of funny.
I think the purpose of the joke justifies it nicely and even if it didnt, what ever, it's just a comic spiced with a bit of controversy and if you think it's offensive and should be banned, Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
