Batista was out for himself and out for the American gangsters. Castro was out for the people. Yeah, Castro clung to power until he died and handed over power exclusively to his bloodline and didn't ever open it up to free or democratic voting process because he was "out for the people." Yeah, just a selfless man of the people. The hundreds of thousands of people [political dissidents/enemies] who either fled, were imprisoned or executed knew he was a "man of the people."
You're pretending that people only flee from socialism and I'm pointing out that you're factually wrong. We were specifically talking about Cuba in relation to America. Americans don't go live in Cuba, Cubans go live in America. What does that tell you about the reality of the situation versus the one you desperately want to believe?
No, like the refugees crossing into Canada in the dead of winter, losing fingers and toes, to flee the US in search of a better life in Canada. Thousands of them Are you comparing Canada with Cuba??? Canada is a functioning society on par with Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, etc. And Canadians move to America too, what's your point? But American do go to Cuba, despite the fact that the US is still stupidly trying to isolate Cuba, for medical care they could not get in the US until very recently and that the current fascist US government is trying to once again halt.

Yeah, just a selfless man of the people. Hyroglyphx writes:
You can't draw a general conclusion from one specific case. Which is why I gave you other examples that show your conclusion is wrong.
We were specifically talking about Cuba in relation to America. Hyroglyphx writes:
And people flee America to live in Canada. That tells me that YOU are the one who is desperately trying to avoid reality.
Americans don't go live in Cuba, Cubans go live in America. What does that tell you about the reality of the situation versus the one you desperately want to believe? Hyroglyphx writes:
Sure. Canada and Cuba have always been friendly. We have a pretty good healthcare system too.
Are you comparing Canada with Cuba??? Hyroglyphx writes:
Canadian REFUGEES don't FLEE to America.
And Canadians move to America too, what's your point? Hyroglyphx writes:
If you can convince the United Empire Loyalists and the escaped slaves and the war resistors to come back to America, we'll take Seth Rogan. People fled America largely due to ideological (political reasons). My sister swore that if Trump were elected she would move to Canada. She never did, because with the mess she has it would have taken her 3 years just to prepare for the move.
People fled to Canada to avoid the draft back in your youth. Canada is a more efficient system than America, particularly in regards to healthcare. Its smaller in population too. I dont need to tell you that its a nice place to live. The people that talked to Hyroglyphix about the horrors of Cuba were likely small business owners that had just had their livelihood snatched from them to be distributed among the poor impoverished masses. I would have been mad too!
Cuban American Maximo Alvarez Warns Against Socialism Dont you guys get it?To jar: The Bill Will Get Paid under a democratic agenda. Do you really claim to be an Eisenhower Republican and not see the damage that will befall the middle class? To ringo: Though you claim that the Socialists will do what Jesus advocated, I'm not convinced. Jesus does not want all of us at the same economic level. The fact that you have claimed to have never made as much money as I earn in your entire life...and the fact that I am not even middle class...says a lot. To Hyroglypix: Im thinking that we all will be better off under the Republicans. The Democratic agenda is too liberal and in line with the global socialism pushed by the CCP. America is not ready to roll over and give up yet. May God judge us fairly. The bill will get paid under any Administration Phat. There is no way to avoid the bill; only a variety of ways to mitigate the pain that paying the bill will be. The biggest pain I see facing the middle class is the current fascist policies of the current Republican Party. You truly have no idea of just how painful life will get for YOU if Trump is elected for a second term. You will kiss your union goodbye, kiss your employer healthcare, forget about Social Security, forget ANY job security, forget Medicare or Medicaid and be replaced in a heartbeat by a RFID based checkout counter. If Trump wins the election you will be unemployed by June of next year and in fact unemployable. Edited by jar, : fix sub-title Edited by jar, : that

So you'd rather see poor people starving. Of course not, but I dont want to be making the same wage as they do. We Christians will suffer, however. I cant be an asshole and defend Capitalism. Socialism wont be the best system primarily because it is godless."A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." ~Mark Twain " *** We must realize that the Reformation world view leads in the direction of government freedom. There is even a possibility under Biden that the Union will be allowed to continue. Under Trump there will be no unions, nor workers rights, not job safety requirements, only minimum wages, no unemployment, not environmental policies only rape and pillage of any resources and all going to the rich.

I agree with lifting the embargo. I don't see why making Cuba even shittier should have ever been the goal. The goal is to introduce the taste of freedom so that they will demand it for themselves/"Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it" -- Thomas Paine

Speaking of conspiracy theories...I recently saw a few online. Granted im not prone to believe anything based on source or authority alone, but I can intuitively see common sense when I read it. Here are three:
1) Newslatter from Stansbury Research: quote: And shockingly, this video...though a bit cheesy, has the adversary saying the exact things that jar and ringo spout. Note the quotes towards the end.
