Topic: Are new posts supposed to kick topics?

The Bible Accuracy Forum has threads with newer comments much further down than the threads ontop.Posts wont kick threads. Plus the latest post box isnt showing the latest posts. Is there a breakdown among some features of operation? Somtimes, this can be the beginnings of a crash.Ive seen it before on other boards.

I checked your profile settings just now
You are currently set up to have the topics with the most recent messages at the top of the topic listings. This is true for the "All Topics" listing and for all the individual forums topics listings. If you have found a topic that should be higher up on the list, please give us a link to that topic so we can look at the situation. Adminnemooseus

It updated when I posted to the thread. Check your computer clock. Since you have your time set to use the computer timezone, it your computer is off by a year or three, it might have confused things. But I am guessing.

that thread is busted.
i dunno why that's been happening. i just wanted to let you know that i replied, since i think the notification is busted, as well as the topic activity updater. the last time this happened, it resulted in a bunch of multiple posts. if you reply, just click "submit reply" ONCE. it'll sit there and do nothing, but it's posted. kinda. just give it a few seconds, and close the window/tab and reload the thread.

Thanks for pointing out the problem. I just did a rebuild of the "The Bible:..." forum. The topic in question now seems to be showing up where it belongs, with the correct most recent message number and time. I believe doing such rebuilds requires Director status. Adminnemooseus

Yes. We are reaching the end of usefull life for the current software. The penalties of success I guess. There is hope though on the horizon and hopefully by this time next year we will be on then next iteration of the forum software.

Things seem to be in proper order once again. Violated the "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" principle - Also did rebuilds on all the other forums. Adminnemooseus

it seems somewhat persistent with the bible forum. or maybe it's just that i do most of my posting there, and thus experience the most problems there. Edited by arachnophilia, : (it's still broken. and i don't think rebuilding it every time someone makes a post is a workable solution somehow...)
