Chromosome XY Question?

I just found this site, and I am probably out of my league, But I want to ask a Question.Are places or sections or locations on CHROMOSOMES refered to as "RIBS"(ribosomes?)?If so, then the difference between men and women would be that a man is missing a "RIB" on the 2nd "X" chromosome which turns it into an "Y".Also, in the Womb, all babies form sex organs- but a mans migrate down and outside his body and the Flesh opening is Closed up at that area.Just wondering if this makes any sense.Thanks.

Ribosomes are sub-cellular components that synthesize proteins, not locations on a chromosome.

This sounds like it may be original thinking! And yes, you are out of your league in a debate on the subject of DNA. So am I. But I think you'll find Gene 90 and a few others in here are very well versed.Your question reminds me of a thought I had on the same subject. I wondered if the Hebrew, which is often so obscure as to defy translation, might have been saying something simple and poetic, like:Eve was "made" by a "rib" which came out of Adam's "side"! Eh? db

J, g is correct. But I will tell you what my first thought on this "rib". Since it was not in the 70s as much known as knowing today how Protein Folding occurrs I had thought that as the protein comes out of the 'rib' it's even positional information of the chromosome could be "remotely" transferred to the folding shape by action at a distance over the meduim of gravity waves but rather than think of it exactly in terms of the chromosome as you have indicated and I had added speculatively to my thinking in the early 90s I was trying to make more than the less sense of Rupert Sheldrake's "morphic resonance". I have other speculations in this direction that have tended to confuse than illuminate here so I refrain from dredging up this memory much but thanks again for the poke at a peek so to seek.

Ribosomes are found in eukaryotic cells. They are organelles that "float" in the cytosol of the cytoplasm. They can either be attached to the endoplasmic reticulum or they can be "alone". These have nothing to do with chromosomes which are composed of chromatids. But, thanks for the post anyway.In Christ I am,

I know, I was one, too.When I was older I realized that I was into all that not because god was talking to me/walking in fellowship/whatever but because it all gave me a great sense of belonging to something, and we didn't have gangs where I lived. Now that I'm older, with a better sense of my own identity, I don't really need that. The older I got the less it seemed god had to do with anything until, ultimately, god seemed ether powerless or non-existent. Hence, atheism.You've got to choose your own path, so I'm not saying you should be just like me - but recognize that there may be very predictable reasons you believe what you believe.
