Re: Topic Drift Alert!
My even less limited understanding of ToE is that giraffes have long necks so that they can reach higher up in the trees and elephants have long trunks so they don't have to bend down to drink.
No.
The long neck of the giraffe tends to get selected for because it gives the critter an advantage in reaching up higher in the trees (and thus allowing it to exploit foliage that other animals might not be able to access). Giraffes don't have the long necks SO that they can reach (i.e., the longer necks didn't come about IN ORDER TO facilitate their browsing--the necks gave them an advantage for browsing).
PS, I'm still trying to figure out if I agree or disagree with your last post on gravity in the other thread.

Then I will show that ID and ToE are the same thing. And then conclude that if ToE cannot be explained by logic and considering ID and ToE are the same thing, then ID cannot be explained by logic alone.
The topic is "The use of logic in establishing truths". Using some of the words of the thread's title in your arguments is not the same thing as being on-topic. Why don't you propose your own thread?

Re: Topic Drift Alert!
Hi Lucy,
I'm sorry if I've confused you, but from where I sit it looks like you're determined to go off topic. First it was gravity, then it was randomness, then when I mentioned trying to tie randomness into the topic you said, "Sure, Percy, gladly," then proposed a strategy where would you would first establish that there are no non-causal effects of random mutation, which is precisely what was objected to discussing in this thread. Entire threads have been used up with discussions of the nature of randomness, we don't need yet another casualty.
My expressions of concern stem from the greater interest you've shown so far in the digressions as opposed to the topic, but if you think what you've got will address the topic then go for it. On the other hand, if you're just planning to discuss randomness anyway then I really wish you wouldn't.

Whoops
The topic is "The use of logic in establishing truths". Using some of the words of the thread's title in your arguments is not the same thing as being on-topic.
No need for an apology. I admit that I'm off track. I misunderstood the topic, I though the topic was "can logic alone prove ID". I don't know where I got that from, maybe the confusion came from the last drop of red. No more on randomness..Fine. That's Ok.
