The Declaration of Indepenence
While the Declaration of Independence has historic significance related to the founding of the Nation State called the United States of America it has nothing to do with the laws of the US; and in fact Christianity was one of the greatest obstacles to creating that Nation State.
The US has never been a Christian Nation thank God.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

I was referring to its influence on the constitution of the U.S. and that's when you told me it wasn't a founding document of the U.S. So if you believe it DID, or COULD HAVE had influence, what was your purpose to say that it wasn't a document of the U.S.?
As you are changing arguments midstream and are doing nothing but building strawmen I guess attempting to debate honestly is pointless.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

Yes, someone else performed the fallacy of poisoning the well on that one too. I'd like to have explored his reasoning about that, but if I'd have asked him about it he'd have flown into a rage and denied that he said anything about it.
What a strange fantasy. I'm surprised that even you are dumb enough to believe it --- and yet here we are.
You may feel free to inquire as to my reasoning (without any of the crazy crap you've made up in your head actually ensuing) but perhaps first you might like to spend a few seconds yourself thinking about wintryknight's statistics and what's wrong with them. His attempts at deceit are not exactly subtle.
Edited by Dr Adequate, : No reason given.

You really see no problem with those statistics?
How about the sources? No problems with any of them?

marc9000 replies:
It's pretty well described in the link in my Message 85.
Only the divorce lawyer part so far...
he continues:
I don't feel like going into more detail about here, it's too far off topic.
True. Gay marriage is not on topic.
Thank you & take care.

But no one seems to be anxious to do it. Maybe because there are no actual serious threats to liberty by religion in the U.S. and there are plenty of serious threats to liberty in the U.S. by secular science.
The real reason not to argue with you is that you are oblivious. People have indeed cited examples of threats to liberty by religion in the US, but you pretend not to have seen them or to take them seriously.
I generally avoid exchanging more than a message or two with you on any topic for exactly that reason.

Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846)
I would say here something that was heard from an ecclesiastic of the most eminent degree; ‘That the intention of the Holy Ghost is to teach us how one goes to heaven, not how the heaven goes.’ Galileo Galilei 1615.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. Frederick Douglass

It's because you use terms like atheist science class that leads us to believe that any attempt at a good debate will be worthless. When you make ignorant comments about gay marriage being a burden, I feel it's best to stay out of a debate with you.
So maybe it's YOU that doesn't draw in people to debate with.
