Just under the video to the right. Right under the fullscreen button, right of the discription.
The Embed button is just to the left of the "flag as inappropriate" button. Just to the right of the "share" button.

The funniest comedian I know of is a woman, Ann Coulter. Every time she opens her mouth I find myself on the floor laughing my head off. I understand she's gay, but I'm not sure if she's Jewish.
Most of my favorite funny movies have already been mentioned except for one of the funniest: Woody Allen's "What you always wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask."

Re: Embed?
Aha - I was looking for a 'views' bit on the forum, not youtube.
After all this aside - this is the video I was trying to show. Comedy gold.

Re: But Ricky, I really want to be in the show, waaaah . . .
I think we've finally entered into an area where you and I will disagree.
Actually, perhaps not so much disagreement here. For one thing, I like your humor on the threads. Also, I would put "Airplane" in my top ten too. Furthermore, I'd agree with you about:
1) Blazing Saddles (one HAS to include at least one Mel Brooks movie, maybe "Young Frankenstein" is slightly better?)
2) The Gods must be Crazy (Great movie, but VERY funny? Maybe I need to watch it again)
3) National Lampoon's Vacation (another movie my bros and I often use dialog from: "Is that reeeal tomato ketchup Eddie?"
5) Naked Gun (Got it on DVD, I love Leslie Neilson)
I wish this thread (and this forum) had more woman participants. I find the gender envolution of humor to be fascinating. Where's Kuresu? He was usually good at finding obscure science research experiments.

Re: Does it benefit evolution?
I am currently embroiled as executor in my uncle's estate. It is one huge clusterf***.
After some long days at my attorneyS offices or court, if you asked me if I find comfort in watching the Stooges extremely violent slapstick routines, I would reply, . . . "why soitenly"!

Gender and Humor
Curiously, we have very similar lists. Again, I am putting a LOT of stock in that humor (or lack of) is highly indicative of our intelligence/personality. From just this trait alone, I would GUESS that the odds of us being friends outside of the forum would be good. I see humor as a big/important bonding agent.
But why doesn't it seem to apply equally to male-female relationships? Shouldn't it? Where is the evolution connection? I just don't get it.
PS: Just watched Murder by Death last night. Watched it a million times, but I still manage to laugh.

Humor and Gender
Hmm. You might be on to something.
I am thinking back on my anthropology classes and visiting primitive societies in S America and the Pacific. E.g. the Yanomami in S America. Like many "primitive" cultures, there is often a special men's hut that keeps the woman separate. There, men will jockey for heirarchy, joke, and will one-upmanship like todays "sophisticated" male. But, GENERALLY, not in front of woman. The women, I am afraid to report, are GENERALLY less often in social groups: tending families/babies, crops, cooking, and weaving. (Of course there are many exceptions to this rule, but I am writing GENERALLY).
But, alas, it would be difficult to accept that humor is in our DNA, and not a conditioned trait.

Re: Gender and Humor
I can only speak for myself and my closer female friends, but humour is extremely important in our romantic relationships as well as our friendships with either sex. I truly don't understand how two people who don't laugh at the same kind of things AND make each other laugh, a lot, can build a really close bond.
Maybe humour is a powerful bond-forming agent from an evolutionary perspective because when you're doubled up with laughter you are in a vulnerable state... reaching a point where you can drop your guard with others helps to build trust...?
I forgot to give my five favourite funny films. Several have already been mentioned:
Airplane
South Park Bigger, Longer, Uncut
Life of Brian (all other Python films are high on the list too)
This is Spinal Tap
Meet the Feebles (Peter Jackson's wonderful low-budget puppet splatterfest, before he went all serious with LoTR).

Re: Gender and Humor
I fully agree. I find the correlation of humor with other points that would tend to come out in one's views on a variety of topics. to find out why 2 people having similar tastes would be interesting knowledge to acquire.

Comic Dames?
Or maybe it reflects badly on the public’s attitude to female comedians
Interesting.
That leads me to . . . perhaps there is still severe repression/sexism/discrimination in the comedy/entertainment business? Surely, 50 years ago, women "comediennes" would not had equal billing to men comics. As a result, even today, the dearth of women comics is relatively low.
Are women still discriminated in the comedy business? Thus, all the funny ones still haven't been heard? Thus, there are still LESS women role models for young girls to be funny. If true, it at least seems to be improving.
Oni, care to comment/2-cents?

Humor and gender
However, most homour, at the heart has some body falling over a banana and getting laughed at.
Hmm. Interesting.
Perhaps, if true, it's another way of saying, generally, men simply don't have the ability or don't need to repress laughing at other's misfortunes. Women, with their nurturing instincts, do.
It might explain the duality.

Woody Allen's "What you always wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask."
Yep, funny film. Gene Wilder with the sheep in fishnet stockings is screamingly funny. I love Allen's earlier, sillier movies.
I expected everyone's list to include at least one mel brooks, one woody allen, or one monty python fim. Surprisingly, not every one did.
To me, it is a shame that the media give Coulter's hatred so much attention. I am irritated that there are so many tablet/rags at the supermarket checkout line that feeds American stupidity/hatred.

Re: Comic Dames?

I'm sure there's discrimination, but no more than in any other work environment. Just as there's racism, anti-semitism, anti-gay, etc.
But the reality is, everyone in comedy in some way is different than most normal, everyday people you meet. Comics are a very unique bunch in entertainment. So we all face some sort of personal obstacle.
Black people faced harsh racism, discrimination, type-casting, etc., yet some of the funniest comics are black, males of course. Eddie Murphy, Pryor, Chris Rock, all over came that. Why? Because they're funny. Women, for the most part, are not. And the exceptions (like Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Andi Smith) are just good. They are funny. That's all it takes.
Women are attractive, that's how they get men to have sex with them. Men on the other hand are usually not very attractive, we had to come up with ways to attract females. Funny seemed to do it; funny guys get laid. If you're a guy and you're not funny, chances are you'll be very unsuccessful with women. However, if you're a woman and you're unattractive, chances are you won't be very successful with men.
Women need to be attractive, men need to be funny.
The only two excepts are money and coke...with that, anyone will fuck you.
- Oni
