Well, it's that time of year again.

Temperatures back at 38 ^oC again. That will pretty much be the story until October or November. After dark (around 9PM or so) the temperature will plummet down to around 27^o. Sweater and heavy coat weather for sure. But the Gardenia is still in bloom and it smells great.

It's a refreshing 9-15^oC at present down here. Summer was too long this year and even re-peaked before winter. In fact it fooled some of the flora and fauna. In the zoo our bison began shedding its coat before winter set in because it thought the re-peak was the next warm season! Our deciduous trees refused to drop their leaves until late May.

It has actually cooled down a bit here yesterday and today. It has been unseasonably HOT and muggy around here the past several weeks. We've been living under an almost continuous tornado and/or severe weather watch. We've had a couple of weeks of almost daily thunderstorms

around here we call this season "f*cking hot again" as opposed to "tourist season" the other four months of the year.god i hate florida. at least it's raining, so it can be hot AND muggy.

I miss Wisconsin. Missouri is just too hot and sticky. And their idea of cheese curds at the state fair was corn dog bread injected with nacho cheese sauce. I was insulted

Just wait a couple months and we can have hot, muggy, and WINDY! Hopefully the state won't have four hurricanes this year. What part of the state are you in? I'm in a vert wet Orlando, only 8-9 inches of rain for the month of June already!

Well out here the west coast just north of the Excited States of America we have it really good. Overcast today but at 7:00 AM it's a nice comfy 67 degrees. Summers here don't get much above 85F and are mostly in the high 70's.I'm on Vancouver Island where it is more moderate than it is for the mainlanders though.

Sounds great! I've seen pictures and that area of your country is simply beautiful. I used to spend my summers on the eastern shores of lake Michigan and Torch Lake just north of Traverse City, MI. It was not uncommon for the days to start out in the 50's during the summer. We lived in central Florida for almost 7 years and we don't miss it.
We use to say there are only 3 reasons to live in Florida - Dec. Jan and Feb.
We actually get more nice weather (averaged over the whole year) out here in Kansas. Got to watch out for that wind though. Some of the most phenomenal summer thunderstorms I have ever seen. We've been on the verge of retreating to the storm cellar twice already this year. And when the hot wind blows from the south in July it can be like living in a blast furnace. But it's a dry heat...

Well March and April can be pretty nice too, but May really starts the hot season! I used to live just south of Melbourne Beach where A1A is still just a two lane and fairly quiet road. That was pretty nice except for evacuating for hurricanes. I do miss the summers, fall weather and maybe a week or two of snow, but my wife is Vietnamese and Florida is the coldest place she has ever lived. She's told me that if I want to move north that's ok, she'll just stay here!

I have been lucky enough to live for considerable periods all over the US. In an earlier life I designed Cable systems and so moved from area to area designing something for a given town, staying until construction was well underway and then moving to the next location. That trek covered the mid-atlantic, all of the south, the mid-US areas like Oklahoma, the south west and the west coast.Where I live now is much like coastal areas of the South, it's hot and humid most of the year except we don't get the rain. We get to watch it on radar as it slides by just north or south of us, but seldom does it get here. When it does come though, it comes in spades. LOL

Personally I always loved Fla. I lived in eastern Canada for 23 years (Montreal and Toronto) and for a number of those years we owned a place in North Fort Myers. I liked the atmosphere of the place and the weather in the winter months was light years ahead of Montreal.I also spent weeks at a time in Miami on a work related basis and it sure did get hot in the summer but I didn't mind it that much. Every place has its pluses and minuses but it is really hard to beat where I am now, at least in N. America.

Weather in Florida is one thing, but traffic is something else entirely.
Just going back to visit the wife's family at Xmas we wonder how we ever used to put up with it. Of course, now I drive 6 miles to work on an unpaved road with only one stop sign on the way and complain about traffic if I come up behind one other vehicle. Priceless !

Yes, I know exactly where you live. I will be up to visit my mother in Victoria this August. It is a nice balance of weather overall on Vancouver Island, leeward side. I am actually planning to buy a retirement property up-island a bit - if the real estate bubble ever bursts like it is supposed to. It is always great to go back to BC - everyone seems so healthy in comparison to the midwest - people are out riding their bikes, walking their dogs, and the restaurant food has gotten so much better since I used to live there. Its absolutely abysmal around here.
