As such, he (IMO) accepts the fact of evolution - That the nature of life on Earth has changed down through time. He just does not accept the "theory of evolution" relationships of this change though time. Instead he attributes the change to being one of many special creations by God.
In other words, Johnson accepts the "dots", but he doesn't accept "connecting the dots".
