Answers in Genesis claims that one of the greatest problems with evolution is the production of new information. (Of course, that is not mentioned as a justification in their Statement of Faith, which essentially says that no matter what the evidence says, anything that contradicts Scripture is wrong and that Scripture is the "ultimate authority in all matters".)
Of course, they never give us a quantifiable definition of "information", it is a fuzzy word that they toss out, assuring us that it cannot be evolved.
"To claim that mere change proves information-increasing change can occur is like saying that because a merchant sells goods, he can sell them for a profit." (Sarfati of AiG)
Mere change allows information increases, as can be shown through Sarfati's own example. Suppose a group of merchants selling the same product all randomly choose what they will charge for their merchandise.
Some will undervalue their goods and lose money, becoming bankrupt and they leave the business.
Some will overvalue their goods, sell nothing, and become bankrupt.
The ones that choose closer to the exact price will make a profit proportionate to how close they are to the correct value. These will compete until the correct value is found. Information, the fair value, will have been determined. Thermodynamics will be appeased because energy was used in the process of trying to sell the merchandise. The proverbial stone would have been pushed uphill, at the expense of energy on the part of many merchants, with only a few being successful.
Evolution and capitalism are similar, are they not?

Didn't Lammerts work on this and publish in Journal of Theoretical Bio before AIG was born?
