I honestly don't feel that this is an accurate representation of the firmament.

Take care.

Until I became a true beleiver and it was as if a pair of glasses was put on my eyes.
What I read made sense litterally.
Not because anyone told me what it said, not because I bought a different Bible... sorry that I don't have any "scientific proof" but I can say I know I'm not the only one who has experieanced this.
Thanks~ jennacreationist

People have this reaction to a lot of things-- music, novels, Babylon 5(wow-- now THAT is an epic saga). You could find people to say the same about the Rig Veda, the Upanishads, the Koran, the Satanic Bible, Liber Al, Amway(seriously), Scientology. Cult leaders-- Manson, Koresh, Jim Jones-- depend upon this reaction.
But why believe? Why base belief on this reaction?

You've taken several interesting positions here.

This is absolutely impossible to prove, or even infer. All of the evidence points to several authors.
the later, off-shoot, accounts of the Genesis precedent by the Babylonians, for instance, present "parallels" in their typical pagan fashion.[/b[]
To support this you'd have to show that the Babylonian stories are younger than the Genesis account. Again, all of the evidence is against you.
The inferior perspective of the pagan culture did indeed host some wierd ideas about how the universe was forged.

But those inferior pagan cultures with thier wierd ideas tell pretty much the same story as Genesis. Doesn't that make Genesis wierd too?
The oldest account of the structure of the universe, the Genesis narrative

Not even close. The Rig Vedas for example are older. So is the Epic of Gilgamesh....

however, is not dependent on pagan perspectives relative to their take on the nature of the "firmament."
Dependant? No, but entirely consistent with? Yes. Anything in the Bible suggesting otherwise? No. Anything in the Bible resembling what we actually observe about the universe? No.

I almost always hit 'reply quoted' and then edit our what I want from there.
To the left is a link that reads *UBB Code is ON. Click on it, and you'll find your answers.
I haven't had any trouble with quote length, though I try to keep them short.

As I understand it, even during the are we consider classical Egypt the country was a real melting pot of peoples, it being a major power and trade center.
Of course, culturally the egyptians today are nothing like there ancestors.
