Abraham and the City of Ur

The location of Ur is Tall al Muqayyar in Iraq, according to this site.
Emuseum – Minnesota State University, MankatoWikipedia says that it is near NasiriyahI can find no mention of any of the surviving buildings being Abraham's house. This page has some photos and might include the building you refer to:

All the pictures on the page are "thumbnails" - click on them to see the full picture which should include identification.Personally I see no reason to believe the tour guide. How could a building possibly be identified as having belonged to Abraham ?

Judging by the attempt to rewrite Egyptian history you aren't missing anything. The evidence presented is either insignificant or misrepresented (sometimes both !). Contrary evidence is easy to find - even in a book that is actually quoted (or rather quote-mined) for "evidence" (Joyce Tyldesley's Hatchepsut).And Marcos/Lysimachus if you want to dispute that please go to the correct thread. I'm ready and waiting.

Don't be silly. The topic is the city of Ur. It is neither Moller's book nor is it ancient Egyptian history. Discussing the evidence against the Wyatt/Moller rewrite of Egypts 18th Dynasty is obviously not on topic in this thread.

The original reference to the book was presumably on topic. My indication that the book was unreliable because of its treatment of Egyptian history is therefore also on topic. Discussion of the dismal handling of Egyptian history in Moller's book is, however, not on topic as I said.

I already explained my reasons. The ridiculous mishandling of Egyptian history is enough to distrust the book on any level. I said that in Message 13 and offered to discuss it in another thread. You insisted that it should be discussed in this thread.And since I explained the situation AGAIN in Message 25 I really don't see why you are asking now.
