You know, as I read your post, I couldn't help but summarize it as "Whichever one believes in Jesus more.". The winner is the one with the greatest strength and conviction? God help is if a cow ever becomes motivated enough.

Does your reply mean that you understood what Robert said? If so, I'd love a translation.

Thanks. And yeah, I *think* I understood.
quote:
If as I understand it this is about the lion or tiger prevailing in a confrontation then what about the great matter of MORALE.
In any fight between them which animal at that moment has the greater inner strenght and conviction of its cause then the other.
"The one who has more inner strength and conviction wins."
quote:
For Example lets say um well how about the debates on these forums. Surely the side with the excellent authority plus the logical mind plus the earnest desire for the truth and all round good will to the better side has a great morale or inner confidence to prevail in all or most matters to any unbiased observer. While
the other side struggles against authority well accepted and ancient plus is forced into logic desperation plus wanting to win then come to shared acceptance of truth plus under stress abusive and defensive depending on the situation will be sinking like some old 19th century "theories" of nature.
"Whoever has the greater inner strength always wins on the boards, too. Naturally, I mean the creationists. Did you like my impersonation of Brad McFall?"
quote:
However being animals and having no relation to the essence to man perhaps morale is not a problem to these kitties.

Predators save those teeth and claws for prey, or when it's absolutely necessary to do otherwise.
If a lion and a tiger tangle, they both lose, since they are both likely to take enough damage to make it harder to get something to eat.
They most likely avoid each other. There's nothing to be gained evolutionarily by fighting.

Well, since tigers and lions occupy completely different niches, it's kinda hard to make them fight each other head on. It's like trying to have a giant squid/T-rex death match in nature. Just ain't going to happen.

For goodness's sake, please vote Democrat this November!
Why? Bush is a right wing nutcase.

Absolutely necessary?

Well since we are talking about lions here I should probably point out that lions and hyenas DO fight a lot and try their best to kill eachother.
They most likely avoid each other. There's nothing to be gained evolutionarily by fighting.
There IS somthing to be gained evolutionarly by fighting becase lions and hyenas hunt the same prey and are locked in competion. (I should also note that hyenas are generaly more succsessful hunters than lions).

THE ANWSWER
Even though my money was on the tiger the lion won when this actualy happened. check out this site.
Interspecies conflict. Which animal is the ultimate carnivore?
In regards to the alligation that I have watched a lot of documentarys:
Yes... yes I have. I love zoology, though I am not a scientist, and I have read enough books about it to know that the notion that, "animals only fight to protect themselves or to hunt" is rubbish.

Re: THE ANSWER
OK HERE'S A NEW BATTLE.
WHO'D WIN?
1) BIGGEST, BADDEST, SIBERIAN TIGER OR LION IN THE WORLD
VS.
2) SHAQUILLE O'NEAL OUTFITTED HEAD to TOE IN TITANIUM ARMOUR THAT ALLOWS HIM TO MOVE LIKE HE WASN'T WEARING ANY ARMOUR AND ARMED WITH AN UNLIMITED SUPPLY OF BIG, ALUMINUM, BASEBALL BATS.

video of a fight.
Here is a video of the a Lion vs a Tiger. Lion fans should not watch this. Although this scene was from an old movie, the fight was real.
This video does not judge who is the superior beast, but it just shows the outcome of one fight.

    Re: Welcome to EvC
Give me a break guys. From the collesiums to the korean pit fights its unanymous. The tiger dominates the lion.
Tigers dominated the collesium and dominated Korean Pit fights.
Actually read the real stuff, the roman times sunquists. Ask the big cat experts. Against big male indian And siberian tigers no lion has a shot.

Tigers would win the majority of the time by far not really a contest.

well a lion has big teeth and claws and strong jaw mussle for crushing preys windpipes .. but vs a Tiger
i mean come on a 88mm high velocity gun firing AP and HE , plus smoke option , two 7.62 MG42's and a mass of armour .. no way a lion could bite through that , ok the lion is more manuverable and accerates faster but the tiger could crush the liopn with its tracks .. no contest ..
