At the "Junk DNA..." topic
At the "Junk DNA..." topic:
Crashfrog:
quote:
Admins, at this point, I don't know what else JAD has to do to substantiate that he has no plans to engage in productive discussion. What else does it take to get some action taken around here? Maybe when the Moose gets done sitting on topics he can get his ass in gear, here?
My reply:
quote:
Do you not have the free will of not responding to Salty/JAD?
Make any response to the "Changes in Moderation?" topic. Link back here.
Willowtree's reply to me (he also quoted the Crashfrog bit):
quote:
IOW, this tone expects you to side with him. I wonder where this expectation originated from ?
You are a puppet.
The fact that you acted like no insult was made to you demonstrates fear of a debater/inmate who is running the asylum.
You have given one of your own a sweetheart pass when he should of been disciplined.
For now, no further comment.

Insults?
I'm pretty sure that Moose is unlikely to react to an insult to him. I would have to be pushed awfully hard to do anything to someone who choose to insult me in Admin mode.
However, to many insults to others and I will, eventually, suspend someone.

I went over the line in my remarks to AM. I do apologize. I realize that he is unswayed by insult, but perhaps he is not impermeable to apology?
It's been a frustrating day for me. But I shouldn't have taken it out on him.

Apology accepted
I figured any perceived insult reflects worse on you than on me.
I think most members have licence to insult away at least a bit (at the risk of above comment situation).
Rocket, however, didn't have that licence. Any digital lip out of him, and he was gone.
Adminnemooseus
ps: Ya know, both "licence" and "license" are considered correct spellings?

For what it is worth, I apologize too.
I complained that an insult was ignored while doing the same thing.
Thanks for ignoring me.
sincerely,
WT

I apologize aswell - for not getting my post in quick enough before Moose shut it down --> " prophecy or delusion ". I say he stood at the gate - waiting for three or four none-believing to get in the last word - before, *slam* when mike makes his post. Ol' Moosey an' Hambre are in league against me! And I suggest they want me dead.
Furthermore - I suggest Moose is infact more selective than natural selection when dealing with topics - in that he naturally selects to let the atheist have the last word. Rather than neutral selection Percy - kick his ass into gear, and ride him like he should be rode --> in creo gear. I suggest a bow tie and Australian outback jacket, with a Ken Ham style beard.

Odd couple of days
It was an odd couple of days.
10/6/04 (1:22 pm) - I start a new topic, based on something Whatever said in the Which religion's creation story should be taught? topic.
10/7/04 (1:04 am) - Later in the same topic, I suspend Whatever.
and
10/7/04 (3:59 pm) - I rebuke Crashfrog, pertaining his forum relationship to John A. Davison (Salty).
10/7/04 (6:52 pm) - Later in the same topic, I suspend JAD/Salty.
Adminnemooseus
ps: JAD is back.

I apologize for not reopening the topic in question. If you had only submitted the request to the "Thread Reopen Requests" topic, things might have been different. Now, since you only get one such reopen request, we shall never know.

Re: Odd couple of days
Whatever writes:
Just toss Geology 101, Paleontology 101 out, and leave the respectful sciences in, biology, micro-biology, soil sciences, etc...
You suspended Whatever for the above quote. As if what he implies is proven to be incorrect. Is this not what most of the debates are about ?
IOW, you evos have sacred cows which are off limits, why don't you list these cows so we creos will know and avoid being suspended.
Below is evidence which proves that Whatever is correct:
http://EvC Forum: Are there any "problems" with the ToE that are generally not addressed? -->EvC Forum: Are there any "problems" with the ToE that are generally not addressed?
"The Myths of Human Evolution" by paleontologists Niles Eldredge and Ian Tattersall [1982]
"myth that the evolutionary histories of living things are essentially a matter of discovery."....if true...."one could confidently expect that as more hominid fossils were found the story of human evolution would become clearer. Whereas if anything the opposite has occurred."
"Through the Glass Darkly: Conceptual Issues in Modern Human Origins Research" by A.S.U. anthropologist Geoffrey Clark [1997]
"paleoanthropology has the form but not the substance of a science."

Re: Odd couple of days
I find the odd grammar and syntax of the quote to indicate that it is not a direct quote or that substantial context has been edited. What is the entire quote?
Also, following the link, I would be wary of using Milton as a source. Being a member of MENSA does not guarantee either super-intelligence nor a superior ability to engage in scientific pursuits. Ask Geena Davis and Sharon Stone.
IN addition, Milton presents himself as a geologist of some sort. In reality, he is a journalist, and his geological 'credentials' consist entirely of belonging to an organization whose membership requirements are - get this - an interest in geology and regular payment of dues.

Re: Odd couple of days
We need to spin this off as a new topic somewhere, sometime.
The non-admin mode is not up to it right now - Perhaps Willowtree would like to start "Geology - Not a "Respectful" Science" and/or "Paleontology - Not a "Respectful" Science". I would prefer that the two topics be kept as seperate as possible.
Adminnemooseus
Added by edit: Geology and paleontology are intertwined. But the bulk of geology is independent of paleontology, while paleontology is a sub-science of geology and biology. In other words, you can discuss geology without paleontology, but you can't discuss paleontology without geology.

Yo, you will roll that way at my suggestion or you might lose the ability to post here at all. I do NOT want to take that route but deliberate flouting of my authority
I don't call a computer geek on a power trip an "authority"...I call her uptight.......and abusive of her powers of censorship (and suspending me would just be an affirmation of this claim).
Why don't you just back off and let people debate? Ya know, like this were a FORUM........

Very good
You learned how to use one variety of the quote box.
I think that was all AdminAsgara was shooting for.
Now use the quote boxes where needed in your other postings.

Willowtree's suspension
Much as I hate to see anyone suspended, I think that admin had no choice since willow suffered a brain explosion and started spamming his various threads with a couple of deluded, self-serving messages. Is it possible for willow to retun to some form of rational debate? I suspect not.
