by all means
For God's sake, someone post at Terry's how I have been suspended 3 whole times.
But I think this whole closing of threads at a moderater's whim seems counterproductive. The Caporale thread in the book nook for example. That was the only thread keeping that board alive. Closing a thread because a moderater doesn't think it is going in some certain direction seems awfully.... I don't know.

more of the same
Yet again, Moose places blame at my feet.
I have been extraordinarily restrained in regards to Davison's attacks, assertions, infantile blather, etc, and I think it obvious that I have been so.
Moose has said before that he agreed with much of salty's compaints about me.
Clearly, Moose doesn't like me, and has as yet - despite my request - failed to email me to inform me where my posts could be accurately described by salty's depictions.
We are told to "let salty be salty" - in other words, allow him to be a crotchety old crackpot, to insult us repeatedly, etc., and do nothing in return - apparently, not even trying to get said rule-breaking crank to stick to the topic for once - for if we do, we get the 'talking to'.
Either enforce the rules across the board, or don't enforce them at all.
I think I will be joining Mammuthus.

I think some more obvious and public admonishions to salty to stay on topic, not violate so many board rules, and actually address questions/comments rather than blather on with the boringly predictable "Broom would agree with me, if he hadn't died in 1951" (no, Salty never actually wrote that... sheesh!) routine would at least put it 'on record' that the admin is aware of his antics and is not 'secretly' plotting against him.
Percy re-asking him the same question over and over was interesting and effective, but I think it would have had more effect to have an admin "Hey how about it?" tossed in.

Re: Odd couple of days
I find the odd grammar and syntax of the quote to indicate that it is not a direct quote or that substantial context has been edited. What is the entire quote?
Also, following the link, I would be wary of using Milton as a source. Being a member of MENSA does not guarantee either super-intelligence nor a superior ability to engage in scientific pursuits. Ask Geena Davis and Sharon Stone.
IN addition, Milton presents himself as a geologist of some sort. In reality, he is a journalist, and his geological 'credentials' consist entirely of belonging to an organization whose membership requirements are - get this - an interest in geology and regular payment of dues.
