I have a few questions for God though - like, why do animals feel pain? Do they feel it like we do? If they do - isn't this cruel?
I think we should start another topic on this one eh Mike?I would love to try and sort that out too.

Is this even still an issue for Creationists anymore? Has this been covered in other threads? I know it is still important for some that I talk to who are YECs so I thought this might actually be a nice topic.
Maybe I am just impatient. -Nasser

It could be good. I mean, it's basically like beginning a new life even though your dead. You could enter a new plain of consciencenous for all we know. personally, I believe our spirit remains here or goes to the other side.

isn't it cruel that we feel pain? This thread is not about pain. Pain is a great and wonderful thing because it lets me know to take my hand out of the fire when I stick it in. Without pain we we not know how far we can push our bodies. Enough about pain. This thread is about death and if it was a part of God's plan from the beginning given the specific scripture of Genesis.

In ancient China, the very bad criminals were executed via the slowest and most painful form of execution in the history of mankind. Basically, they would cut the guy up until his body could no longer sustain itself and dies. Sometimes would last for days because they would always cut the non-essential parts first. Actually, if I remember correctly, the first thing they would remove would be the eyelids.
Now, here is the kicker. Sometimes, they had certain quotas for the time span the prisoner had to stay alive. If the judge said 2 days between the first body part is removed to death and the executioner failed to keep him alive that long, the executioner would face the same fate as the criminal. They did this to prevent the executioner from killing the criminal out of mercy. I would say that this would be one of those time when it would probably be very very very good to die rather than staying alive as long as you can. He's not dead. He's electroencephalographically challenged. The longest word in the English language is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

It is actually part of the forum guidelines to do your best to stay on topic. If you feel the need to talk about pain and why we feel pain that you should open a new thread. I really liked this topic and I hoped that others might join in and actually talk about the points raised in the OP.

That is a decent point that I think can be applied to what I am trying to discover. Did God make us capable of being mutilated or harmed or is this a post-fall trait? If we were immortal yet could have all those torturous things happen to us that that would really suck because there would be no way for a person to be relieved by death.
I guess the response I would expect would be that men would not torture other men because pre-fall we were without sin. So this may be a moot point but it is interesting none the less. Still though. Are there any YECs out there who simply cannot believe in evolution because there was no death in the world before the fall? If so why do you believe there was no death? -Nasser

Does this help!? Psalm 116:15Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints. Possibly. I think I would need some context or some explanation though. What does precious mean in this sense? Are you trying to support that death is or is not very good? Are you a creationist? If so, is the need of death for evolution to take place one of the reasons you feel evolution could not have happened?

crashfrog writes: While I will agree with you about the vast evidence for evolution in some ways, I disagree with the premise that sheepherders made up stories. These so called sheepherders had far more character than the modern day urban dweller will ever have. Our character is defunct, although our knowledge increases.
This is because the Genesis account was written by sheepherders making stuff up as they went along, and the evolutionary timeline is based on a mountain of evidence.
